Most notably because people think that it destroys computers, so "super l33t twitch trolls" get a rush when they convince some streamer to delete System32. The reality is that it can be fixed easily. Depending on your version of Windows, you can make a repair disk that can fix it up in like 5 minutes and your computer will be fine.

The worst you can do (without damaging it physically) is corrupt your BIOS, but again, you can just flash it.

"oooor windows blocks you from doing it" Exactly. It's been like that since the days of Windows Vista. People still use batch commands to do it, but I find that it's just really stupid.

"but most 10 y/o twitch streamers don't know how to repair it" That's why their parents look up how to fix it, or, if needed, contact Microsoft.

You can also just delete a crucial file in System32 and it'll do the same effect, of which wouldn't require a batch command IIRC. Not sure why people just try to delete the whole folder instead of deleting something like shell32.dll

Wait, is shell32.dll even used in Windows anymore or am I just that accustomed to Windows XP?

"maybe you'll get only a shell32 missing error" Nope, shell32.dll is required to even boot Windows I think. It's the main DLL for the whole entire interface of Windows, and it'd be a huge mess without it.

"i never seen you make a post about windows and not hate on it. this is new." I don't hate Windows. I use it for my daily driver, actually, although I do prefer Linux for everything else. It's just that I don't care if my data is being exposed because I don't really have data that I'm ashamed of on my computer.

"how can you search up how to fix it if you cant search anything because you deleted system 32" You're telling me that a home will have only one form of looking stuff up? Come on now, we're in the 21st century.

SHELL32.dll is not essential for the Windows OS and causes relatively few problems. SHELL32.dll is located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Known file sizes on Windows 8/7/XP are 13,179,660 bytes (30% of all occurrences), 8,453,632 bytes and 120 more variants. The program has a visible window. The process is loaded during the Windows boot process (see Registry key: ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad). The file is not a Windows system file. SHELL32.dll is able to record keyboard and mouse inputs. Therefore the technical security rating is 20% dangerous, however you should also read the user reviews.

"SHELL32.dll is not essential for the Windows OS and causes relatively few problems." Yes it is essential. If you delete shell32.dll, I'm pretty sure there's a boot error.
