I've seen a few RbxDev members on here; how is it actually like? I hear it's just ROBLOX forums all over again where all the flaming and crap is concerned.
It also doesn't seem to be very hard or prestigious to get in, considering some of the members games (ahem, prison life) seem like they took no effort to make and are just whipped together. |

| It's definitely not like the ROBLOX forums at all and people do take things seriously there. There are the occasional people that can make you irritated, but that's normal. |

| I've applied more than once and have not gotten in, this is probably because I don't have a successful project. I don't release much of my work because most of it is messing around with what the API provides. So I wouldn't say it's easy to get in, but it's not impossible either. |

@Locard Oh, okay
Any word on the AdService functionality with PC? Why is that not a thing in the first place? |

| I haven't heard of anything new about AdService, but the reason I believe behind it not being available for PCs is because In-Game Ads are a major part of mobile gaming while not so great on PCs. I'd rather suffer ads on a mobile game than have my whole screen taken over by an ad on my computer. |

It's upsetting how many people seem to get in really easily.
It's really upsetting to me how hard it is to get in when I have perfectionism and can't finish what I start, on the rare chance that I actually find something to start.
If the idea's been done before, I just can't stand making it similar at all, and so I run out of ideas.
When I'm making it, I don't have the practice and experience I need to plan ahead without becoming overly stressed about problems that will occur at the very end of the development process. And I don't want to progress when I'm not sure how to make a decent animation. I don't want to progress when I'm not sure if something will even work, and if I can get the math right.
It's so depressing.
I heard that many people who are depressed are perfectionists. I'm pretty much addicted to perfectionism. It's really hard to ditch perfectionism and settle for what I am capable of. Also, I am painfully remembering that crying silently brings headaches. Why do people only cry when they start talking to other people about their problems, rather than before?
And to think I took pride in perfectionism a year ago... |

I guess so.
I'm just trying to think of a way to make money from NBC players or players otherwise uninterested in MTX while allowing them to reap benefits that would otherwise be robux-exclusive, and they cannot afford. |

It's incredible the amount of support I've received here when I voice my problems. |

Btw, Firestorm is basically done, so it's almost ready for you to tell me how terrible my math is and how it's bad compared to PF when it's out :D |

| Me and my premature optimisation have probably stopped me from going in there. I could always whiz up a quick protoype but I do not want to enter like a skid or person who lacks skill, I want to join in something that makes me feel proud. That the true satisfaction of joining. |

i highly dislike ROBLOX's idea of paying roblox users to force ads on others
i hope this never gets implemented on PC and stays on the trash mobile devices where it belongs |

| It's not that hard to get in just make something decent and popular. Also, the more RBXDev members you can get to recommend you (i.e. friends mostly) the better. Applications are apparently rarely read. |

Yeah, I always hated when developers force you to watch one. It's best implemented where it's an optional thing for users who won't buy any microtransactions anyway to reap rewards while making you a bit of cash.
They could have a small conformation screen before watching an ad, where you can opt out. I don't know, it's not really a big deal until it gets to the point where it disrupts gameplay.

"It's not that hard to get in just make something decent and popular." It's hard to make something popular when I can't even bring myself to make something that isn't popular, if it's already been done.
"Also, the more RBXDev members you can get to recommend you (i.e. friends mostly) the better. Applications are apparently rarely read." This is where social skills would come in handy. At least, I think they would.
Thanks for the advice, but I really need to overcome my perfectionism before I can finish (Or start) a game. |

In a way, there are already adverts on desktops and laptops - before you join the game. But anyways, there is 1 way I see laptop and desktop adverts, and that's physically.
A new instance, called "advert" is linked into ROBLOXs advertising (BC members see ROBLOX created ads, NBC see ads from other places). It works like decals, people could put billboards around the place and display those ads, and for every click they get a little profit. |
