There is no other forum I know of that can help me with computer support
------------------------------
I will pay over 200 robux if someone can help me
*Posting on an alt because this computer is also infected*

I've had this computer since I was 11, and im 16 now.
It works great, but being the 11-13 year old i was, i trashed it.

All I've wanted to do is wipe my computer clean.
When I try to wipe it, it says files are missing and it tells me 2 places to find them.
The first place it tells me, is the exact place im in.
The second place it tells me, doesnt even exist.
So I decided I'd try to get windows 10 and try again *I have windows 8.1*
I updated my computer and it restarted and everything, but i go to check the version and its still 8.1

Not to mention my W key is gone and I have to press this little white button.

Woah, thats one messed up computer

To reckon with you, I think that quite a few files on your computer may be corrupted. I'm sure I heard somewhere that you can reinstall them, i'll try and find out

Windows 10’s reset feature is found in the primary Settings menu. Click the Notifications icon on the taskbar or press the Win button + A. Click “All settings.” From this screen, click “Update & Security,” then click “Recovery.” “Reset this PC is what we’re looking for — “Advanced startup” is for modifying your computer on a deeper level or installing a completely different operating system, so leave it alone. Click “Get started.”

A new window will appear with two options, “Keep my files” and “Remove everything.” The descriptions are pretty self-explanatory: “Keep my files” will keep things like your saved documents, photos, and music files intact, while “Remove everything” will completely wipe everything except Windows 10 itself. Both options will delete any installed programs and reset all settings. Make your selection, then wait for your PC to get ready. If you chose “Keep my files,” skip the next paragraph.

If you chose “Remove everything,” you now have the option to “Just remove my files” or “Remove files and clean the drive.” The second option formats the drive itself, and it’s better if you’re planning on selling or giving away your computer. It takes much longer, so if you’re just resetting the PC for yourself, choose the first option. If your computer has multiple internal drives, you’ll also have the option to wipe only the primary drive (the one with Windows) or all the connected drives.

Click “Reset.” Your PC will reboot automatically and begin the reset process. This might take an hour or more, so if you’re using a laptop it’s a good idea to plug in the power cord. It may reboot itself several times. Wait for Windows to restart and begin the setup process, then enter your personal information, log in, and begin setting up your refreshed PC.

If it still does not work, then reply to me. Please read all of this, as the steps are crucial.

I found it, but i'm unsure if it might fix your problem.

If you search 'Windows 10 menu not working' (I had and still have this problem) and click on the BT website one, doing the first step might help. Unrelated but I believe it repairs broken files

If not, i'm afraid you'll have to buy a new computer.

Your computer may be bugged or broken. Most computers break down after so long. This is the wrong subforum really. Try looking for a restore to factory settings option in your settings. If the doesn't work then maybe get a new hard drive. If this doesn't help our best bet is to speak to a computer mechanic/engineer or you could perhaps ask at your local electronics store. Just so you know i'm not a computer expert or anything so I might be wrong.

Oops, I read it wrong. You don't have windows 10, lol.

Windows 8 has two built-in reset options that can be accessed by opening the Charms bar, hitting “Change PC Settings,” and then visiting the Update and Recovery tab.

Click on the reset, which is also under the Update and Recovery tab, and is listed under “Remove everything and reinstall Windows.” A reset gets rid of all your settings, files and apps, restoring Windows 8 to its out-of-the-box defaults. Once again, you’ll either need a recovery partition, or installation media to complete the process.

If you don’t have a recovery partition or installation media, you can create an installation drive as long as you have a valid product key, and a USB drive. Go to Microsoft’s “upgrade with only a product key” support page, and follow the instructions to grab a Windows 8 or 8.1 installer. Then, use the installer to “install by creating media” when the wizard finishes downloading Windows, and provides you with installation options. Select your USB drive as the install location.

Now you have a drive that can be used to install Windows 8 or 8.1. Note, however, that resorting to this measure won’t allow for the re-installation of apps that came bundled on your system. Those will only be available if you reinstall from a recovery partition, or use install media provided by the system’s manufacturer.

Considering his computer is a good five years old, I highly doubt it came with any 'apps' anyway.

Insert the flashdrive

Go to the Charms bar, hitting “Change PC Settings,” and then visiting the Update and Recovery tab.

Click on the reset, which is also under the Update and Recovery tab, and is listed under “Remove everything and reinstall Windows.

It might ask for the key, or it might ask for the key once it resets. Insert the key, and it should be cleaned up in a jiffy.

If you are unable to find it, i'll help you.

INTRO: PCs that come with Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT have an encrypted product key embedded in their UEFI firmware. When you reinstall the same version of Windows 8 or 8.1 on a PC that came with it, the product key will be automatically applied and activated. You won’t see any product key prompt — it will all happen automatically.

INTRO [CONT]: This only applies if you’re installing the same copy of Windows. This doesn’t apply if you install an upgrade copy, a system-builder copy, or a different edition of Windows 8. This also won’t work if you try to install Windows 8.1 on a PC that came with Windows 8 — Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 have different product keys for some reason, so you’d need to install the original version of Windows 8 and then upgrade to Windows 8.1 via the Windows Store.

INTRO [CONT]: This feature is designed to simplify things, but you may need to get at your Windows product key anyway — use a tool in the next section to view this hidden key while Windows is installed.

IF IT'S ON A RUNNING WINDOWS SYSTEM: The Windows product key is normally hidden and not shown anywhere in Windows’ interface. However, you can use a third-party utility to view the product key stored in Windows. You can then write down this product key and re-enter it when installing Windows. This is the only way to find the Windows product key on PCs that come with Windows 8 or 8.1 pre-installed.

IF IT'S ON A RUNNING WINDOWS SYSTEM [CONT]You’ll need to download a third-party tool for this. We like NirSoft’s lightweight ProduKey utility, but you can also use another product-key-finding utility. Run the tool and it will display the Windows product key in use on your current Windows system — write it down so you can use it later.

IF YOU PURCHASED A BOXED COPY: You’ll find your product key included on a card in that box. You may need to dig the box out of your closet to find your product key. Look for a card with a picture of a key on it.

IF YOU PURCHASED ONLINE: You’ll find your Windows 8 or 8.1 product key included in an e m@il (sorry ROBLOX censors that word) Microsoft sent you at the time of purchase. The product key from this email can be used when you reinstall Windows 8 or 8.1.

IF YOU PURCHASED ONLINE [CONT] The e m@il should say in the subject “Thanks for ordering Windows 8″ and it was sent from Microsoft Customer Support. Your e m@il may look a bit different if you purchased Windows 8 or 8.1 more recently.

You could always just get a new hard drive and smash your old one to pieces. That's what I'd do. Although I love destroying things...
