Instead of judging by the genre, let's judge by its listeners, or what we think their listeners are...
What first comes to my mind:
Classical - some sneery-faced elitist fellow Metal - people angry at the world Country - Carhartt-wearing hicks with lifted trucks Jazz - Groovy while high Hip hop - Chicago and some Canadian guy with thick eyebrows Indie - some skinny jean, speccy, flanneled, mountain man Pop - teenyboppers

indie/alternative - flannel, flannel, and more flannel. also, hipster glasses. and skinny jeans. and tumblr. (i speak as someone who listens to indie rock on a regular basis and whose wardrobe is mostly made up of flannel shirts and skinny jeans - it just kind of happens after awhile)
pop - pre-teen girls who go to slumber parties on a regular basis listen to Katy Perry; teenage girls with a tumblr account listen to Marina and the Diamonds (and try very hard to fit in with the indie/alternative crowd, in spite of the fact that most 'alternative' pop stars really aren't thaaaaat alternative).
classical - those really smart homeschoolers that are always two grades ahead of me and make me feel super insecure about my own intellectual capabilities.
metal - edgy teenagers that actively aspire to be as angry as humanly possible, likely due to the disapproval of their parents and/or peers.
country - rednecks. they likely blare this music late at night while sitting around a bonfire of burning garbage in their backyard and getting plastered. |

| Stereotyping people by the music they listen to? That's just plain ignorant. |

This thread is full of stereotypes.
But they're funny af.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pop - 94.7 FM radio listeners
Metal - one word: eyeshadow; that one kid that you want to talk to but are too scared to actually make conversation; usually dyed hair
Trap - people that you would never expect to listen to trap (fr, I've had my surprises)
Dubstep - I'm really not sure; that one kid on the bus with Beats on staring out the window
Rap/Hip Hop - It really depends, some are chill, some aren't; depends on the person
Classical - educated and down-to-earth; disagree with stereotypes listed above
Jazz - educated black men; people who go to cafes a lot
Deathcore - I'm really not sure about why people like this genre
Electronic - people who like sports video game soundtracks (Madden, 2K, FIFA); people who like to breakdance
Indie Rock - flannel shirts and big, non-prescription glasses
