| Do people not realize that you're twice as likely to get struck by lightening and die than to be abducted? |

| You'd be more sorry sheltering your kids from actually living because you're insanely paranoid of every little tiny thing that can possibly happen. |

"Do people not realize that you're twice as likely to get struck by lightening and die than to be abducted?"
this is the most untrue thing ive ever read unless you are completely isolated from any civilization
parents only worry because they love you and if you honestly dont realize that you clearly dont see how much your parents appreciate you |

What if them sheltering their children is why they are more likely to get struck by lightning rather than be abducted? ;3 Besides, most things are done by people they know....

"this is the most untrue thing ive ever read unless you are completely isolated from any civilization"
The vast majority of "abductions" are really just one parent taking the kid from another parent because of custody issues. In fact, this makes up 80% of all reported "abductions".
Less than 0.05% of child abductions are from strangers abducting kids like everyone worries about and over 99% of all cases the child is found within a few hours or days.
Given that there are 258,115 cases reported each year, that means only about 129 cases are actually the kinds parents should worry about.
That's 129 children abducted by strangers each year, as opposed to 267 reported cases of people being struck by lightening each year.

That's still a disturbingly high number. |
