You awaken to the creak and sway of a dim and damp wooden room, the sounds of feet shuffling above and the crashing of water against the walls. You turn over to see no doorway, but two other people and a grate above you.
Upon inspection of your person you only have your braies and tunic, and a rope tied around your waist. You're cold, hungry, and exhausted and the two, who seem to be together, have the only covers available.
You:
A) Ask politely for a blanket.
B) Threaten them for a blanket.
C) Forget the blanket, look for a way out.
D) Inquire about what's going on. |

You sit up and look over, crossing your arms to try and keep warm.
"If it is no trouble, may I ask for you to pass me a blanket?" You ask of them.
They glance at each other, the man nods cautiously and tosses you a blanket; you barely catch it. You give them a warm smile as you wrap yourself up but unfortunately even the cover is a tad wet, but it's to be expected.
A) Inquire about what's going on.
B) Ask about them.
C) Warm up a little and look around.
E) Get up and look around. |

"I apologize for prodding, but I would like to be acquainted with my saviors." You jest lightly, which seems to ease their tension.
"Rhys." The man speaks. "This is my wife, Arabeth." He holds her tightly which she returns the favor.
"Pleasure to meet you, Rhys, Arabeth. I'm-"-You're cut off abruptly as the room essentially throws you and the couple a bit, as you attempt to speak again you hear a loud thud, stomping feet and muffled shouting. This is not good.
A) Huddle against the wall.
B) Get up, there has to be a weapon somewhere.
C) Remain still. |

You and the others freeze in place, the sounds get closer and closer- A body slams unto the grate with a big gash across his neck, his breastplate dented and helmet visor smashed. Arabeth screams in horror as the blood pours down into the room.
Though as you look up you notice the shaking of the grate and the broken rusty lock as men run by.
A) Attempt to escape.
B) Tell the couple about the lock. |

"Rhys, the lock! It's busted!" You alert him, he looks down to Arabeth and shields her as he helps her up.
Arabeth stands and looks away as Rhys pats your shoulder. "Give me a boost, buddy." He asks of you, you hoist him up to the grate and, with slight loss of balance you keep him up long enough to push the grate off and the body. You help him and Arabeth up, and he lends you a hand. You accept it and get up to see the chaos unfold.
Through the fog you can see the silhouettes of burning ships and clearly hear the cannibalistic metal dig, dent and puncture plate along with the scraping of chainmail and the thwick and snapping of arrows, littered across the deck you see many dead men at arms and sailors, many still groveling on the floor screaming in pain.
Arabeth looks in horror to the corpses in which Rhys shields her again, though you look around and spot an arrow protruding out of the corpse, useful it could be you wrench it out, though slightly damaged you use it anyway.
There is still one escape boat left, but people are approaching fast!
A) Grab them and run!
B) Run!

You grab Rhys' hand and pull him and Arabeth with you as you make your way to the boat, stumbling through the bodies and the looming fear of the men making their way too you you finally make it-
-Oh no! Arabeth was grabbed by a wounded soldier. "Arabeth!" Rhys cries as he rips his hand out of your grip, but he's too late. As Arabeth struggles to her feet she's cut down by one of the men pursuing you. Rhys cries her name in despair before he shares the same fate.
You look in horror as the men approach you, however you finally make your way to the boat and use the arrowhead to cut the ropes and fall - with a dulled splash upon the dark blue sea and with the cover of fog and screams you row out of the fray, shaking and dumbstruck.
The scarring image of the blade digging into Rhys as he reaches for his dead wife haunts you along the journey, your view obstructed by fog and the chilling creak, roar and snap of the boat puts you into an uneasy sleep as you await Dawn, maybe the clouds will be gone?
-??/????, Daybreak.
Upon the first blush of dawn, and the warm kiss of the sun upon your face you awaken to the clear skies, though uncomfortable and in a cold sweat you wipe your face and sit up - you're heading East. Hopefully you find shore soon-
-... Or maybe now, you think as in the distance you can see trees over the horizon. Maybe it's the mainland.
After thirty minutes of continuous rowing you finally make your way to the rocky shoreline and dock, with no valuables except the arrow and clothes on your back you abandon the vessel and set forth through the woods. Though you need not search long as over the hill you see a small hamlet, with people going about their way and carts going along the road... It must be the mainland.
A) Enter the hamlet and ask around.
B) Enter the hamlet and follow the carts.
