I am a fairly intermediate builder, I have been building detailed works of art with ROBLOX Studio for a couple of years now, and if I can brush on my skills and make something as realistic as possible, I may even share my works of art on ROBLOX Studio with the colleges I will be applying to in a few years.
That being said, I've noticed how quite a few basic parts in ROBLOX Studio (Especially Cylinders and Spheres) are not actually spherical nor cylindrical, the cylinder is essentially a 24-gon, instead of an actual cylindrical shape, while the sphere is something similar.
I've seen quite a few other games that I've played finally taking a departure from making cylindrical shapes out of polygons and are now constructing cylindrical shapes with High Definition, giving it more curvature. So, I just want to know, when can I (and the rest of the ROBLOX community), expect ROBLOX to depart from giving bricks a 'curved' nature simply by adding more sides, and make smooth cylindrical shapes?
Based on a twitter post by ScriptOn that I read a few days ago, he's already done something like this and he has made a smooth cylinder, I'm not so sure how he made it happen, but I guess that it goes to show that making smooth cylindrical shapes is possible.
Here is the link to the twitter post he made;

Anyways, thank you for your time, and I'm hoping I'll be able to receive an answer. |

| It's roblox, not a high quality game. |

@Waffle
ROBLOX is starting to integrate into a more High-Quality platform now, given that they've added Solid Modeling, and more advanced plugins, there isn't much you can't do with studio now. |

in all honesty, you really can't do much with studio other than insert parts and mess with them.
Building with an actual tool is much better. |

| I'm really good at building, at least that's what people tell me, and I'm fine with the same stuff I like the fact that they are adding more detailed textures and colors, but every other part can be manipulated into greatness. You just have to know how to do it. |

@Catroar
I agree somewhat, but this is why the ROBLOX administrators have been working to improve studio, which is why I believe that High Definition Smooth Parts are the next big step for ROBLOX Studio. |

Roblox has changed engines in the past
in 2008-2010 player shaddows looked realistic and cylinders and balls where completely round. They changed engines for less lag |

| Well, there is kind of a fix for this. Turn the surface to "smooth no outlines" and it will turn into a 48-gon. |

^ No it wont, and to that guy who said "All you can do in studio is insert parts and mess around". Have you ever played a showcase such as Temple of Memories? Since you haven't, go do it.

| Yes it will, it will look a lot smoother, but if you union it, you will see the edges again. |
