When it hit, no one was expecting it. Some say it was God's wrath, finally punishing all the sinners that walk the earth. Some say that it's science, that it's a new discovery that no one had noticed yet. Others call it evolution ; killing off one species to make room for a new, better, more advanced one. One thing that most can agree on though - this wasn't what anyone had in mind.
No one is quite sure how or where this begun but when the undead hit the streets, cable was the first thing to go. Then the internet, then the radio, then cell service and finally, power in general. The government collapsed, and no one has heard from the military since the start. There's rumors of military camps all over, however most prove to be false, merely a death trap waiting to happen. It wasn't long before the undead outnumbered the living, and it wasn't long before this epidemic spread across the globe. With the earth in such a state of chaos, hope for the future is bleak among the survivors that litter the globe.
Even in what seems to be the darkest of times, there is still a beacon of hope. Welcome to the Safehouse. Located in the former hub of Seattle, Washington, the Safehouse is half of Washington, which is fenced in, heavily guarded land. The walls went up roughly a year after the start of the apocalypse, built by a small group of military survivors hoping to try and create a new life free from the outside. Fellow survivors were taken in, and soon enough roles were developed and a new society was being constructed. But, the internet? How could people live in a place with no internet? It was basically a starting point to rebuild the society they once had. The military rebooted the Internet only in Safehouse, and all sources of Internet were directly in the central area, meaning that only Safehouse received the Internet. Soon, simple games and research were available to the common people, and people were able to browse and contact anyone overseas. The internet wasn't the only thing that was introduced, though.
Obviously with a new life, there are also new jobs that are created. First of all, there are the innocents. These are children under the age of seventeen who are not yet deemed old enough to have a job. They attend classes and have a caretaker assigned to them, and when they turn sixteen (with their caretakers help), they will select a job and begin training for when they are of age. Next, there are the caretakers. These are the ones that take care of the innocents. Each innocent has one caretaker, and each caretaker has one innocent. They stay with their innocent and most of their time is spent keeping them on track and making sure they're alright. After that, there are the healers. They work in the infirmary in shifts and take care of the sick and the wounded. Not to be confused with the healers, there are also scientists. These are the ones that spend their time in the laboratory, working towards a cure. Next, there are the police force. They keep the town running smoothly and make sure that things stay in order, as well as handle conflicts within the walls. There are also the runners, who handle supply runs and recruiting new people. These are usually the quicker and more nimble members. Lastly, there are the guards who defend the walls. These are typically the older, more experienced members of the Safehouse.
Of course there's the... 'More elite' Police force that 'guards' the town as well. While being the Safhouse's Military wing, they seem to control most of the town. This Military Wing controls most of the Food Trade, Imports and Exports, and they seem to control the Police Force as well although not as prevelantly. Of course everyone who's in a position of power is hand-picked by them as well, and if the power-holder betrays them, he may be offed and replaced with a new power-holder.
Most of the time, citizens would only see the thugs of the Military Wing or The Universal Outside Assault Force, who wear trench-coats and gas-masks to make people feel scared/threatened around them. It's been reported that even police officers feel uneasy around them. People who commit capital crimes such as murder just dissappear off the face of the planet and are never seen again. People who commit small crimes such as thievery or robbery have leaked that when they go to the prison, they're blind-folded and have no idea where they are. They're then put through hard labour and beaten senseless until their sentence has been served.
They are the real austere people, creating a solid foundation to make them be immune themselves - and they're always one step ahead.
What happens when things begin to fall apart, however? What happens when the walls begin to crumble, or when people within the walls begin to drop dead for no apparent reason? What happens when a sickness sweeps through the Safehouse, or an entire crew of runners goes missing? Will the Safehouse survive being overrun, or will it tear itself to pieces first? Only time will tell. With the looming mystery of the military wing, things are making out to be suspicious. Welcome to the Safehouse. Things will be okay for now.
+||[R]OLES
Roles are described above in the plot, but I will list them here so you don't have to read up and find it again.
[1] Innocents. [ will need a caretaker ] [2] Caretakers [ will need an innocent ] [3] Healers. [4] Scientists. [5] Police. [6] Runners / Scavengers. [7] Guards.
NOTE: The Universal Outside Assault Force [MILITARY] is the primary force, which controls everything. The police force are a seperate, secondary force that have a choice to affiliate with the military, or join the solo police organization which controls sectors rather than everything.
Having a job other than Innocent, gets you paid. Innocents are provided for by the Caretakers.
+||[L]OCATIONS
Block A-14 / A-15: This is the Apartment Block you live in! An Apartment block usually just a large structure, that can fit hundreds of people in it. Each room inside the block has a bedroom, a kitchen, a living quarters, and a bathroom. When you first enter a room they're usually just barebones, a toilet, a sink, a shower, with a table to eat on and a couple of beds. The rest of the decoration is up to the owners, and they can add as much or as little as they like. A-14 is a simple, more civlized area, where there is little crime.The police force tend to have lower alert around there. A-15 is a more crazy, full-of-crime area. A-14/15 are very close to each other. The police force normally stay here to arrest and such, since they get paid for that. Apartment blocks go up to A-1 to A-20.
Block B-1 / B-10: These are where people sell their goods they manage to get. Most of the time it's just stuff that runners have found on the outskirts that look shiny and decide to sell, due to the fact most food outside the wall is molded and rotten beyond any sembalance of food at that point. Anything of actual proper value to the colony has to be given to the authorities, otherwise you could get jailed for 'hindering the colony/stealing goods'.
Block C-1 / C-5: A small sector which TUOAF controls fully. It is a more solid market of foods and such, with more items that are normally grown or found in good condition in comparison to the civilian-run market. If runners manage to find appropriate food, they are bought here, or traded for anything valuable to the authorities.
Block D-1 / D-15: These are large training grounds used by TUOAF and the police force. Weapons are guarded here along with 3 vaults containing money to be given to workers. Infiltrating this area is highly risky and since it is heavily guarded, and has heavy security, unless you have a master plan, try not to do anything stupid around this block.
Block E-1 / E-?: Areas above E are still in construction and are not guarded by anyone, meaning zombies are very close within construction. If you wish to escape, the construction sites are the best way to go unless you want to face a whole legion of undead.

- Prohibited firearms -
1. Explosive military missiles and launchers. 2. Automatic firearms. 3. Firearms disguised as other objects. 4. Ammunition with penetrating, explosive or incendiary projectiles, and the projectiles for such ammunition. 5. Pistol and revolver ammunition with expanding projectiles and the projectiles for such ammunition, except in the case of weapons for hunting or for target shooting, for persons entitled to use them.
ACQUISTION AND POSSESSION: Only Military or Police units may carry these firearms. If found in possesion of these firearms, immediate arrest will follow.
- Firearms subject to authorization -
1. Semi-automatic firearms for civilian use which resemble weapons with automatic mechanisms, such as a pistol or oher hand-gun. 2. Repeating and semi-automatic long firearms with smooth-bore barrels not exceeding 60 cm in length. Anything from a simple hunting rifle to a shotgun. NOTE: ONLY 20 GAUGE SHELLS MAY BE USED.
ACQUISITION AND POSSESSION: People over the age of 21 may have these types of firearms in their homes, although you will have to spend 1,000 US dollars on an ownership liscence and have no previous offenses onthe criminal database. You wll have to spend three months at the firing range and also have a Certificate of Validation to prove you have done so. Paperwork to sign up as a registeredgun owner will be carried out atyour local police station and a Pshyce Evaluation test will be mandatory. NOTE: This is meant to be complicated, okay?
MURDER, THIEVERY AND OTHER OFFENSES:
Things such as Murder, Thievery, Vandalism and anything else that would be against the law today are also illegal. Depending on the severity of the crime, your sentence will be adjusted accordingly.
+||[R]ULES
-Standard RP rules apply. Eg, No Godmodding, No Mary Sues, No Trolling etc.
-Firearms are meant to be complicated to get, please ask us before you put it on your CS.
- Doing illegal things will get your character jailed, so either be smart about it or don't do them at all. And don't come complaining to us if they dso get jailed. Also, instilling a rebellion will likely get you gunned down, but feel free to instill a rebellion!
- No being part of the TUOAF. Remember, only the most loyal get a chance at getting in.
- TUOAF have military grade firearms, you at most will have a civilian grade shotgun, so getting in an extended firefight with them will most likely result in your death.
- Zombies will only be encountered on the outskirts or the construction area.

[NAME]: Alaska Crane.
[AGE]: Fifteen years of age.
[GENDER]: Male.
[JOB/ROLE]: Innocent, wants to become a Runner.
[APPEARANCE]: Alaska has hair like his father. With an auburn unkempt style, Alaska tries his utter most best to keep it as neat and undeviating as possible; although, he fails to succeed everytime since it plumps back up to it’s original, disheveled style. He has viridescent eyes, although more of swampy green then a beateous bright green - around his outermost ring is a circle of a chestnut-brown tint, it is not prominent from a distance, but look close enough, you’ll see the ring.
Although this ring around his eyes serve, well, looks probably normal enough to look ‘normal’. To explain his body build, is quite easy, saying he wears the same thing almost everywhere he goes. His build is somewhat petite, not having really great strength in anything, except for his legs; his legs and agile past, makes him fast, and usually faster than others. For his upper (probably the most important part to have lean) body, it’s between medium and petite, it's leaning more to the medium side, although his strength lacks there ultimately.
[INVENTORY]: His father’s pocket knife, his citizen ID, a worn out wallet and a pet mouse called Ernie.
[PERSONALITY]: [COOLHEADED]
[AFFECTIONATE]
[CONCEALING]
[OBSERVANT]
[CONSISTENT]
He’s the type of person who always has a space in his heart for socializing and building relations even though he’s not quite the cheerful and talkative one. He prefers to observe and to think on the world around him while not getting involved. But if he sees his friend in a problem, he wouldn’t hesitate to help them. However, he could be a bit vengeful and ruthless to anyone that hurt his friends.
Alaska has a habit to never tell the actual reason behind his doings and hiding his emotions, it makes some people mistake him as a ‘bad’ and ‘rude’ person. Almost nothing can shake him off nor affect him. Even when he has to face the greatest crisis in his life, he’d still manage to keep his calm self-control and solve the problem. His consistency makes him a reliable and faithful person to say the least.
[STANCE]: Compliant towards TUOAF.
[RESIDENCE]: He lives in the Block A-14 apartment buildings, and resides alone in his allocated room, even though he should have a caretaker looking after him. It has everything it needs along with a television he’s trying to fix. The walls are a white colour, but tainted with rubble and holes, so the walls are plastered with newspapers and posters, along with a big map of Seattle. There’s a cupboard in the kitchen where Alaska keeps all the money he steals from other people, and a pocketknife he kept when his father joined the police force in Safehouse.
[BIOGRAPHY]: Simply, Alaska has a brother, not identical, just two years older than him, called Dakota. They both did track in high school before the epidemic happened. They both enjoy computer games, but have taken in doing sports as more enjoyable. His mother and father are alive and well, and they all survived the rise of the apocalypse, although Dakota had broke his ankle and it slowed down their journey to the Safehouse. He now resides in A-14 alone, where his brother and mother live together in A-15.
[CITIZEN ID]: 14251
[OTHER]: Alaska has minor ADHD. |

[NAME]: Stan Redder [AGE]: 41 [GENDER]: Male [JOB/ROLE] : Guard [APPEARANCE]: Stan, stands at 6'2 and weighs around 150lbs. He has short dusty brown hair, and a stubbled beard. He has hazel colored eyes, and a light scar on his right cheek. His natural facial expression is a more bored, and quiet look. Clothing starting from the head down; Black baseball cap, black t-shirt, with a brown leather jacket over it. Worn, but not torn blue jeans, with a brown leather belt. Black work boots. [INVENTORY]: Sunglasses, brown work gloves, black leather wallet [$125, ID, an old hunting license, and a picture of a family member], attached to his belt is a sheath with a Sheffield Rogue inside it. [PERSONALITY]: Usually quiet, unless he is at work. He is a friendly person to most people. Rest is TBR since I can't come up and stick with a selected personality most of the time. [STANCE]: Compliant [RESIDENCE] A-14; The apartment is painted white. Multiple paintings of forests and lakeside houses are hung on the walls. He has light brown colored, leather furniture such as a long couch, and a rocking chair. 40 inch flat screen TV with a mount. In the kitchen, the table and chairs are made of wood. Bedroom, a queen sized bed, with a black comforter. [BIOGRAPHY]: His past growing up and family will be revealed. However, Stan was recruited by a runner named Josh. Josh had heard a gunshot, and a group of people laughing, until the laughter disappeared into the distance. He had followed the noise of the gunshot and found Stand lying in a pool of blood. Stan had been shot in the leg, beaten senseless, and had a cut on his cheek while fighting off one of the thugs. Josh stopped the bleeding coming from the gun wound and requested a medical team to come and help extract Stan back to the Safehouse, some of which was still under construction at the time. Once Stan had recovered from his wounds, he requested a job as a guard, in order to repay, what he thinks is a life debt to the Safehouse. [CITIZEN ID]: 14589 [OTHER]: Just a question, for guards protecting the wall, are firearms given to them on the start of their shift? |

[NAME]: Alek Stagovich
[AGE]: 34
[GENDER]: Male
[JOB/ROLE] (if you are a caretaker, you may choose someone who joins as an innocent to be your partner): Guard
[APPEARANCE]: Alek has a bony, and rather gaunt face with a pair of hazel eyes. His hair is a semblance of a bright ginger, but looks more of a messy brown and unkempt due to age and lack of care for his looks with a large beard of the same colour. He's got an athletic build, looking rather muscular and tough, but also looks angry and aggressive at all times.
Although being tough and muscular, he's rather short, standing at just 5,5. But don't let his height fool you.
[INVENTORY] (reasonable things, also appropriate for your job of choice): A pair of older, 1960's era pair of binoculars, a small flask of warm coffee, a set of playing cards, and a thick set of military clothes, insulated and thick enough to prevent a weak zombie bite.
[PERSONALITY] (tbd/tbr is allowed): Alek is rather reserved, but highly aggressive person, carrying himself the way his father did, tall and proud. While not completely arrogant, he certainly wouldn't back down from praising himself. To the few friends he has, although still slightly more aggressive than the average male, he carries a certain air of loyalty around him.
But to outsiders, he seems like your stereotypical crusty, crotchety old man. Even though he's only 34.
[STANCE] (are you a compliant or rebel against the TUOAF/military?): He tolerates the TUOAF in the barest form of the word.
[RESIDENCE] (A-14/A-15 and a brief description of your accomodation): A-14; His apartment is painted a dark, faded blue colour, but apart from that, he doesn't have much else in there, apart from a nicer looking couch and a fairly large T.V to watch whatever entertainment is on at the time.
[BIOGRAPHY] (tbr is allowed): A true American in all but name, Alek was born to a Russian mother and an American father, he grew up a fairly normal childhood and of course had a fair amount of misdemeanour's. When the infection struck, his mother and family were turned into those 'things' that now roam most of the U.S unbothered.
When he grew older, he joined the police force, then the Guards.
[CITIZEN ID] (starts with 14/15 depending where you live and 3 other digits of your choice): 14965
[OTHER] (anything you'd like to add): N/A

@Paintball
Yes they are. They don't have military weapons however, they start with civilian grade weapons (for free that is, because you are a guard, and it is very hard to get your hands on a pistol if you're just a civilian), unless you have a special affiliation with the military.
And, of course, accepted. |

| @ Roq, you'd still have to go through the normal means of getting one, but yeah. Also, can any other questions now be PMed so we don't have a thread full of PMs? PM to me or Hissey, as we'll have a better idea of how the RP works than Pawz or Pick does. (No offence to either of course.) |
