The story is almost as weak as Halo 4's. (343i can't do campaign storylines as well as Bungie, who had huge literary influence and massive attention to detail and social/emotional commentary to all of their stories.)
However I like the more philosophical stuff regarding the mantle towards the end of the campaign, where she quotes the Didact's exact words from the ending monologue of Halo 4.
That's not to say the story was bad. It wasn't. It was good, just not great like all pre-343i stories.
The gameplay is solid and oh so very fun.
The music is a little underwhelming but nothing bad, and to some degree better than Halo 4's.
Visually it looks stunning, and some cool detailed environments beyond the sort we've seen in a Halo game before.
Multiplayer is a god-send after the atrocious MP of Halo 4. Map design is actually good this time. |

| All halo stories have had the flaw of trying to convey important plot points amidst a firefight. |
