_______╭ The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers ╮______________

The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) are a special operations capable organization of the UNSC Marine Corps that specialize in orbital-drop shock infantry and special warfare tactics. The ODST are one of the primary Special Operations units of the UNSC. The ODST is a volunteer unit but you will have to pass boot camp first, and then take regular performance tests.

_______╭ ODST Training ╮______________

To become ODST you must first pass boot camp. Boot camp is held for a week every other month. During boot camp you will be testing on several different things including tactics, fighting skill, and leadership. During this period you are expected to also Patrol Biko. At Biko you are expected to wear ODST PT gear, if you are found out of PT it will be taken as a sign that you washed out.

Once you have passed boot camp you are now an ODST. ODST must attend a monthly performance test, or attend boot camp once every three months to stay an ODST. If you miss more than one performance test you will be expected to attend boot again. If you miss boot camp you will be removed from the ODST.

To apply for ODST boot camp you must own the ODST PT gear, own the UNSC dress uniform, and have Skype.

_______╭ Regulations & Protocol ╮______________

ODST are to uphold themselves in a proper manner at all times.

ODST are to use / to keep their chat local, unless requesting support.

ODST are expected to Patrol regularly. If an ODST goes inactive for a long period of time they are required to take a performance test, or retake boot if the time period requires.

ODST Officers are expected to be the first to drop.

ODST reserves are not to use ODST equipment unless ordered to.

ODST are still marines, they will follow the chain of command or risk removal from the ODST.

_______╭ Drill ╮______________

ODST have a few specific Drill commands. Here they will e explained in detail. Any ODST recruits are expected to memorize these before boot.

ODST are the only people who are to use the Helljumper cadence during marches.

"ODST, Remove Helmet!"
ODST are to remove their Helmet when this order is called. ODST are to fall in and then remove their helmets without orders.

"ODST, Replace Helmet!"
ODST put their helmets back in place with visor transparent. If you are late to fall in and the other ODST have their helmets on, you are to fall in, remove your helmet, and then replace your helmet.

When falling in there is to always be a blank file. This represents comrades who did not return from a drop. When falling in with other UNSC branches this is not required, but may be done if their are only two ODST.

When falling in with other branches ODST are to take the front rank.

ODST, and ODST reserves are allowed to wear the ODST death's head on their dress uniform.

_______╭ Drop Etiquette ╮______________

ODST arrive on the battle field using the Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicle (SOEIV). The SOEIV is dropped by a vessel in orbit. This part of the handbook is to make sure that you drop correctly, and without buggering things up.

First things first. Even during a coordinated drop, officers drop first.

Second ground forces are to be notified that ODST are inbound. They do not need to know when or where the ODST will insert, just that they need to watch out.

ODST are to enter their pod upon boarding a UNSC ship.

Once in position ODST are to wait for the order to drop. The order can come in several different forms.

"ODST, Prepare for coordinated drop!" When this order is given it means that all ODST will prepare drop at once. The ODST at the beginning of this command may be replace with individual unit names. As always Officers drop first.

"ODST, Prepare for staggered drop"
When this order is given it means that all ODST will prepare to drop in a staggered order. This means that pods will drop in numerical order. Check the number of your pod when entering. Once a pod drops the occupant will report so like this. "Pod # away" Once the final pod is away the commanding ODST will report "All pods away" allowing the transporting ship to pull off.

Once the order to prepare for drop has been given ODST will wait for the order to launch. This order to launch will come in this form. "ODST, drop on my mark." This will be followed by a count down from five. Like so "Five, four, three , two, one, mark!" Officers will drop on one.

If the vessel transporting the ODST comes under attack, the naval officer in command of the vessel is to state weither it is safe to drop or not. If it is safe to drop all ODST will immediately drop with or without orders from the Officers. This is the only case where officers drop last.

Once landed ODST are to regroup, and locate the Forward Operations Center established by the Officers.

_______╭ ODST Units ╮______________

The ODST is split into three companies with three squads each, as well as Recruits, and reserves. In this section we will talk about the different ODST units.

The 7th Shock Troops Battalion. 7th Battalion is one of the more well known ODST battalions. The 7th have participated in several major battles including New Mombassa, and Installation 05. The 7th is made up of Alpha-Three, Alpha-Six, and Alpha-Nine. Each squad is made up of Five men, with red accents to their armour. 7th Battalion's Primary weapon is the M7/s.

The 19th Shock Troops Battalion. 19th Battalion is primarily a Recon Battalion made up of mostly Hungarian speaking marines. The 19th is made up of Hotel-Eight, Hotel-Eleven, and Hotel-Fifteen. 19th Battalion's squads are four men each, with yellow accents to their armour. 19th Battalion marches to the light of aiden-lament. 19th Battalion's Primary weapon is the MA5D/s.

The 22nd Shock Troops Battalion. The 22nd is an Advanced battle Recon Battalion. The 22nd was stationed in Viery territory during the fall of reach. The 22nd is made up of Bravo-One, Bravo-Two, and Bravo-Three. Each squad is made up of four men. The 22nd uses jetpacks to out flank the enemy. Members of the 22nd are required to go through advanced training to earn their Jump-Jet wings.

The ODST Reserves. The ODST reserves is a unit made up of Marines who have received the ODST Death's Head, but have not been placed in an ODST unit. ODST reserves act as regular Marines, and only serve as ODST when there are no other ODST units present. The ODST reserves are allowed to wear their Death's Head on their dress uniform, but are not allowed to use ODST equipment or uniform. If ODST reserves are ordered to drop they wear the standard Marine uniform under the ODST armour. ODST reserves must pass a performance test once every three months.

_______╭ Equipment ╮______________

M7/s. "Tears through armor and turns bad guys into chum." -Commandant Buck.
The M7/s is a silenced variant of the popular M7 sub machine gun. Equipped with a holosight and flash sound suppressor the M7/s is the best friend of any commando.

MA5D/S. The MA5D/S is a standard MA5D assault rifle outfitted with a flash-sound suppressor. The MA5D/s is for occasions that require a little more firepower than the M7/s can provide.

M6C/SOCOM. "whisper-quiet with armor-piercing rounds. Brutes might see us coming, but the only thing they'll hear is their bodies hitting the ground.” -Commandant Buck
The M6C/S is a silenced side arm issued to all ODST. The M6C/S is accurate up to long ranges, and is effective against infantry dropping them with a few headshots.

S12/SOLA. The Series 12 Single Occupant Lift Apparatus better known as the jetpack, is used by the 22nd Advanced Battle Recon. The S12/SOLA gives the 22nd the mobility to outflank most enemies, and access normally inaccessible areas.
