Hi ATR Community,
So obviously DevEx has been out for a while, and it's features are pretty amazing. But the question still bothers me - how can ROBLOX afford to do it?
Apparently, you can earn up to $50K per month for just 20M R$. And reportedly, a user has already cashed out $50K. Looking further into the terms and rules of DevEx, the only catch I can see are the DevEx requirements and/or the international taxing (with PayPal and the IRS, etc.). But even the taxing wouldn't return to ROBLOX.
The reasoning for this question, is because I'm considering creating a game to rake in cash, however the whole DevEx deal feels a little sketchy to me.
Thank you in advance |

| The thousands of children who buy membership definitely outnumber the developers who consistently profit from this game. |

| the place visits alone are good enough. the games people make that are worth 20M robux a month is so much money for roblox its insane. they are getting heaps of people to make their game for them. |

"wait how"
people buy robux and bc to buy gamepasses and micro-transactions developers can exchange at 100k, which cost the users $1000 $250 goes to the dev, $750 goes to roblox.
yes, they could be getting 100% of that money if devex didn't exist, but it has turned every game into a smartphone-esque game where you are encouraged every second to spend money |

Plain and simple, just a vanilla way of rewarding roblox developers for creating games and stabilizing revenues with active branding (Mad Games, Twisted Games, etc), without most of the hardworking developers ROBLOX would only be a quarter of what it is right now, with clothes brands and groups. This is why they have created an incentive which, surprisingly, actually nearly doubles their profits because more community members are buying ROBUX and BC to play games.
in a nutshell: roblox gives out money as a reward to developers, it's a grain of sand in their profits and paying a small amount for more players is a good deal. |

I had no idea that the revenue adds up to an amount that staggers over what ROBLOX gives to DevEx users for "cash-outs". The fact that ROBLOX actually gains business via the DevEx system is truly brilliant in hindsight.
Thank you everyone for your input to help me understand |

ROBLOX is worth $196,000,000

Nope, that's DEFINITELY not accurate. Don't trust any of those crappy net worth estimations, they're grossly inaccurate and auto-generated based on largely irrelevant statistics.
What do we know about how much ROBLOX is really worth?
The last TRUE information was in 2012 in the Wall Street Journal (I think) with a net worth of $20m. |
