Got my AS in CS, working towards my BCS, then my Masters, then PhD. I've already gotten numerous amounts of experience, I've even had the liberty of getting professional Security training i.e Offensive Security and CompTIA.
Thinking of working for CIA, NSA, DoD, or HLS.
Pros: Good salary, amazing retirement plans, good rep/will be good on a resume, experience will be amazing. Cons: Higher chance of being an assassination target. |

I dunno, making video games seems more fun. If not that, creating software used for the gaming industry also seems like a lot of fun. I like those mathematical challenges and what not.
Computer security seems a lot more boring. |

Another con would be how irritable it is to apply there. Normal career checks x 20. Anyone you have talked to in the past 10 years would be interviewed which would take over 6 months.
Congrats on your CS degree, FYI. (Is that what AS means? Not sure what it stands for.) |

| Yes. Background checks are painful as heck. They even require every address you've ever moved to, they even question your 2nd grade teachers. |

@Aetricity My older cousin applied for a position in the FBI and the whole process of background checks said it could take up to two years. |

| That's just the FBI. Just think about what it would be like for the CIA, NSA, DoD, etc |

I'd rather be a rich, crime fighting vigilante with a English butler and a bat-themed costume.
Seems like I'd get more done that way.
