| It'd be an alright ambition but, I wouldn't want to be some sort of corporate game developer working for Activision or something like that, I'd much rather work in some software engineering position at VALVe or something. |

@Lethal, 2D games (mainly in the indie department) are still quite popular today.
I actually am a game dev, in a way. I use Multimedia Fusion 2 as a hobby, working on a fast-paced platformer with wall jumping and such currently.
I get quite a bit of nostalgia using it too, as I used it a lot when I was like 10. |

| I'd rather work with computer hardware. Think about it, getting paid for explaining to idiots how computer parts work, or building computers for people. |

I'd love to create maps for fps games or either draw concept art.

I keep trying to be a dev but every time I try to read a book on game design I go to sleep
more fascinated with the 3d modelling/programming side, you know, the part were you actually develop the game(although I am not good at programming, I just get temporary relief of my knowledge of my insignificance in the grand scheme of things)

I'd like to be a level designer for CoD or perhaps CSGO. I would LOVE though to have any sort of job at Bethesda or Rockstar
someone stole my sweetroll |

I'd like to be a lot of things when I grow up. A teacher, game art and design, or a movie-script writer. I'm sure I can accomplish these goals. However my major in college most like game art and design.

@hard
working in large studios is not fun.
especially rockstar
like man the studio that worked on L.A noire went through pretty rough times to get that game out
and half of the people weren't even in the credit list
point is, when you work for a studio with 30+ people,
your voice doesn't matter what you think doesn't matter either all that matters is what you do, and what you can do

though i'll probably start as a QA tester first and work my way up to an SDET, then consider switching "career ladders" |

i used to have game dev as my main ambition therefore took maths + computer science for GCSE
but now i'm edging towards forestry or archealogy, with game dev still as a possiblity. RAF was a hope of mine, too, but due to medical history i can't ;c |

@All the people who want to do level designing
A good place to start with that is in the Source engine, whether you're using Hammer or you're making custom puzzles in Portal you can make your name heard if you're good enough. Clearly if you're making a map with custom textures you may need some artist unless you can pull that off yourself. |
