Currently in Unreal Engine I'm leading the programming area of indie project lead by Colin Davidson (linkedin(DOT)com/in/colinlloyddavidson). I previously to work in ROBLOX making game projects in Lua. A year ago I transitioned into Unreal Engine around the time it became free.
Lua scripters would need to transition into Blueprint, a visual based scripting language that is a part of C++. This is not a difficult language to learn if you have previous experience in coding syntax, API, data types, and coding with functions and such in general.
UI Designers would need to learn how to use UMG, there are a few videos of it on Youtube. Compared to the ROBLOX HUD, the UMG on Unreal allows you to drag and drop multiple kinds of UI components and freely resize with options that auto fill frames for you (vertically and horizontally).
The project is currently one month into production and is soon reaching Version 2 of production. In which we will need at least at least one UI designer and three programmers.
Current Team: 1 Producer, 1 Lead/Gameplay Programmer, 1 AI Programmer, 1 FX/Weapons Programmers, 4 Modelers, 1 Modeling Artist, 1 Concept artist, 1 Level Designer, 1 Musician/SFX Designer, 1 Covert/Banner Artist, 1 Animator.
We're soon hiring a VFX artist from Waterproof studios to soon start adding our own particles to the weapons firing in place. This is an indie project that could end up selling very well as we are looking into investors and some of whom have taken a liking to the project.
If you are interested feel free to send me a message, and if you feel like I should address something for everyone please let me know and I will explain further details. |

| Is there anything you show me you've gone to show for those years? I don't care about "years of experience" and no job hiring does either. Everyone wants to see your skill put into results. |

We're starting to pickup and finalize a lot of the AI, and gameplay mechanics, but all we have for the UI is a health bar and shield bar.
Here's some of my UI concept art for the project.

Honestly because there's a lack of freelance developer in the UE forums, plus you would be very surprised how few UI artist there are. Still there are people on ROBLOX that have potential to get into the industry but need proper experience and mentoring.
I mean schools can only teach you so much and ROBLOX is a very limited engine and not something you want to use to develop a portfolio. So if anyone has the talent they can take this opportunity to grow as a developer.

Recently it just came up that our Producer needs help with writing, so even I'm sure no ones interested if you have grammar and writing skills and love organizing or writing stories we're looking.
Also the UI designer position is still available as I need an assistant to collab with on designing the menu further and the HUD. |

| I know C++, I see you have skill in this so I'd rather do this from the base as an .exe file |

| Fine... I'll stop acting immature... So how is this going to work? If you are going to reply to me now please summarize, i'm so tired! If you aren't, then go ahead, write a 5 page essay about how this is going to work! |

@Lil - If you can show anything you previously written that would be fantastic; documents, stories, etc.
@Hex - I'm confused, start what from the base as an .exe? That's very unrelated to this project so you have me lost here. We're currently still trying to find an assistant AI programmer.
@Kek - Being less rude would be nice, and appreciated because I can't take you seriously at the moment. You wouldn't directly be joining the team, but you would be one of our students. Basically it means you have small work handled by your leads and co-developers who are experienced in their field.
Currently I'm the only one experienced in UI so the first thing I would have you get in Photoshop CS6, and download Unreal Engine 4. Then walk you through design techniques, planning, the mechanical parts of the design. A few design rules such as simplicity, care for user experience, and etc. At the same time help you learn the UMG editor in Unreal. |
