I've blood of the macleod family although it's not my last name my surname is after one of their chiefs. The island of skye in Scotland is what I'd consider my ancestral homeland. |

Can you think of a more precise location?
I'm going to skye for sure. My ancestor from the 1500s is actually buried there in a tomb fit for a chief. |

the earliest ancestors of mine that anyone has record of are from only the 1800s or so, and barely even. I guess my family was some peasants or something and didn't get much, especially because they were in the barren snowy wasteland called russia

Although my ancestor is actually in a tomb on the Isle of Harris, not skye.
Probably I'd go Glasgow> Skye> Isle of Harris. |

Ireland and Romania are as precise as I can come up with. Though I will say this: Romania is only an approximation. I'm part Roma (aka gypsy), and it is believed that they were in Romania. However, they likely traveled like the rest of the Roma, so it's hard to say if Romania was where they stayed at or if they went to other countries before some of them eventually made it to America.

As creepy and weird as it is, my ancestors tomb is still visible and he is well known since he was a scottish chief at one point.

I don't have Macleod as a surname but my surname is derived from the family. |

| Well actually there were various chiefs among the different parts of Scotland, infact the Macleods were only one of the two on their island as they rivaled the Macdonalds (I swear if Mcdonalds is derived from Macdonalds my ancestral rival has beaten me?) on the other hand he certainly was part of a large and powerful family. |

what i meant is that there's probably half of scotland is related to him because if they had lotsa kids then those kids had lotsa kids then more kids = more people related to him kinda.
i'm trying to look more into the family name as far back as it goes, my name isn't derived from it because one of them had only daughters so the name got changed
