| I chose German as my second language of choice in my younger years. I don't speak a word of it now. I used the internet growing up and became fluent in English, which is not my native language, all because I'm surrounded by it. |

| I wonder if things would have turned out differently if I had chosen to do the English course or the Arabic course. |

| I didn't really want to learn German anyway. It was mandatory to pick a second language. I decided not to pick English because I would learn it on the internet anyway, and not Arabic because of the script. |

Turkey's language education for English is terrible.

Arabic is way too hard for anyone, even if we share a few simple words.

Yeah in my new school we can only choose between French and Spanish and that really sucks for me tbh. I'd rather learn German, Russian, etc... I have no motivation for French or Spanish.

i swear to god it's their writing
1. it's impossible to read it on the internet because all the fonts have terrible arabic letters that are microscopic and you can't read it anyway lol... 2. the fact they will not write most vowels, you have to memorize them by heart, or guess them as you're reading |

Yet Arabic is definitely a skill to be had, I'd be extremely impressed if someone knew it and it isn't their first language. But even as a first language, back when the Ottoman Turks were around not a lot of people could write because the scripture was so hard.
