Aqua1212121 AKA Eric D. Centurian of Prime Legion Former Supreme General Of VDV
This forum post will explain to you the way's of being an Hr to a sword clan community. All HighRanks are different in my book, let's take a good friend of mine for example, Hort0; he's a friendly, inspirational guy but he is also a strict hr that knows his stuff, in my opinion he will rule you out in two catagories, a simple trainee, or a friend. Luckily most of prime legion is his friend, because he is such a cool guy (Yeah that's right horty, I'm talking to you :P) if you do something you know that's wrong, he will just get you out of his face, because he doesn't want to deal with you, and if you do something that is right, he will take that knowledge and show you the respect you deserve. Whenever he does remove you, he almost alway's send's you a message, explaining why, because of that he gets tons of hate mail, in his words he told me "However, it's my belief, that EVERY member... deserves to know exactly why I do things. And EVERY member deserves my time if I am able to provide it."
But, high rank is kind of an "art" to my opinion there are many way's to being one. Let's start with the "must have's":
1. Must know, and be trusted by every current high rank. 2. Must have at least a fair amount of sword fighting skill. (Don't hate on me, how are they going to teach if they don't even know anything?) 3. Must be mature, use a fairly proper amount of grammar. (The grammar part isn't all to important)
So, all tactitians, if you feel you have passed the criteria then great! if you havent, it's okay! Just work on it, I, or any highrank of prime legion would have NO problem in helping you out.
So, being a highrank obviously is fun, and it is a pain sometime's, these are some recomendations from another skilled highrank, VetagosCJ4
"Make sure you are the obedient one, even if a high rank higher than you is at training they still obey under your rules, unless otherwise... Keep members under control while keeping training rolling Respect and care for everyone, help them out individually even when your not hosting. (Shows your loyalty and pride in your group) If possible, you can or should volunteer to co host, which benefit the actual host. Stay strong, never show weakness to members, such as anger. Make sure every member is involved. Make them inspired, compliment their ability. As a HR its key to remain your activity rate. Suggest or question higher ranks if they require help Ask members for feed back or rating of your training. If you witness bullying, or someone complains, make sure you resolve the situation with or without force/power. Train them something new. Sound fun and make trainings fun. Ensure they are disciplined, or discipline them in a fun inspiring way. Always be honest, never lie. Out of the group, you still represent the skills of your group and wearing uniform shows pride."
These are suggestions, not any "must have's" you don't need to follow them all, but I recommend following at least half of them.
Now, here are some of MY tip's to being a High Rank.
1. EARN YOUR MEMBERS RESPECT No one wants to attend "that guy I don't like"'s training, being a bully during training is NOT good, everybody has a special thing about them, if you would like to earn their respect, ask them about it. For example, I play basketball, I play an acoustic guitar, I have honor's in Social Study's, Spanish, English, and Algebra. These are all characteristics that you should take notice to, and say "Nice man!" or "Good for you!". (Don't mean to brag, but some of these might actually be true :P)
2. There will be time's where one of your members needs help, whether it's math homework or with serious problems at home, all i can say with that is, try your heart out to help, not to be a good high rank, but to be a good person, all it takes to help someone is some good words from another mouth.
3. Never EVER argue.. EVER I've been pushed down for doing this once... it isn't pleasent. You can do it if you want... Don't say I didn't warn you though.
4. TRY YOUR HEART OUT This goes for ALL member's, you have NO idea the way i felt when Hort promoted me to champion that day.. Probably the best day in my ROBLOX life. Simply do nothing but want to be the best at everything, obviously you can't be first everytime, but trust me, if you try hard enough, there are more odds that you will become an even higher ranked HR.
5. Understand the responsibilities You might think that being a High Rank is all just for fun, of course being an HR is super fun, but there is alot of responsibilities that comes with the rank, you must host enough time's a week to keep your rank.
6. Acknowledge your mistakes One time, we've had an HR accidently say :ban all during a raid, so don't worry if you make a mistake once in a while, we might pick on you a little, but thats a way of telling you you're awesome :D
________________________________________________________________________________
The kind of High Rank you want to be.
All HR's are different, have some sort of special characteristic, Like for me as an example, I try my best to be as similar to another High Rank as possible, but I am slightly more laid back, but when you do get me ticked, I don't even let out a warning, I just get you out of my face, I joke around and talk to my trainee's like they were my bud's, because they are.
So, most hr's usually just have a different level of two characteristics, Strictness Niceness
So, if you want A LOT of member's to join your training, be a nice, laid back high rank, If you want good members to join your training that will actually cooperate, act more strict, Try keeping these two characteristic's balanced.

"he's a friendly, inspirational guy but he is also a strict hr that knows his stuff, in my opinion he will rule you out in two catagories, a simple trainee, or a friend. "
^ seriously not certain how I should view that statement... but ok.
"if you do something you know that's wrong, he will just get you out of his face, because he doesn't want to deal with you"
^ that's likely true however.
And woa he quoted me. q.q (Though I'll be honest, if I've had plenty of times where I've forgotten to check the ban list for exact names.)
___
"I play basketball, I play an acoustic guitar, I have honor's in Social Study's, Spanish, English, and Algebra."
^ If you do half of those.... '#Respect'.
"serious problems at home,"
^ There have been some very late nights...
"4. TRY YOUR HEART OUT"
^ This is YOUR group. You're in it. We're all human... and as much as we may want to hide it. We DO... intentionally or not... have flaws to "favoritism." So... if you're not noticed first... it's an investment call. In some groups, you'll never be noticed, in some groups, it just takes a while. It's hard to avoid, but it's true that many things are "more who you know, less about your skill." For Prime Legion though, you should be fine. If anything has been proven, it's that LordLancer seems to enjoy crazy people. *cough* ZeeThree, TheOriginalElmerz, Hort0. We're all kinda... odd and special in our own way.
"One time, we've had an HR accidently say :ban all during a raid"
^ Yeah that was me. xD Someone came back on an alt.. with a name starting with 'all'. Let's pretend it was... 'allthemhomeboys'... or something. Yeah, don't even sweat it. Just be honest about it, and... remember: It's hard to mess up worse then Hort.
"Strictness Niceness" ^ Just keep in mind that those are two different things. You can be strict while also being nice, and you can be 'mean' while also being rather laid back.
"So, if you want A LOT of member's to join your training, be a nice, laid back high rank, If you want good members to join your training that will actually cooperate, act more strict, Try keeping these two characteristic's balanced."
^ Ehh, it might be more of a matter of "what really matters?" Because, VAK is a great example in the past, of a strict but active group. Different people like different things. Laid back doesn't equal nice. xD But, this is your group. So, you shape the image you want.

I know I am being a bit... 'nit picky'.
Since I like to over-explain things.
Either way, not a bad post. I'll not lie that plenty of older members may look at it and go... "well that's not entirely true."
But... some of it's just opinion. So... who am I to say if blue or red is superior?

The BIGGEST thing, to remember. In my own opinion.
Is that you're in a position that is what you MAKE it.
That rank means NOTHING unless you make it something.
The only reason I can't 100% agree with the guide, is simply because it's all about who you want to be, and how you're going to do it.
There is no 'wrong' way to lead.
xD 'everyone's a critic.'
Like I said, it's not a bad forum, and I'm glad it was written.
Just make sure you know what your interpretation of it is, because everyone's different.

As someone who was once a somewhat respectable HR in the days before Prime Legion was a sword clan, I will add, in case it wasn't already said, that to really be a "good" High Rank you have to earn respect. Don't try to get people to "like" you. That's appeasement and it doesn't end well for anyone. Earn the respect of the group's members and they'll follow you like a religion.
Make it a great day... Or not. The choice is yours. |

| Earning respect and trying to get them to like you is two completely different things, so i do agree with you, so as he said, don't go and be like WHATS YOUR FAVORITE SPORT?! WOW!! THATS SO COOL!!! Honestly, I would think whoever would do that is kind of "strange", I mean, whatever floats your boat of course, but there's a good chance it will not work out for you, so just wait for it to come by, then show them the respect they deserve. (This isn't directed torward you Zee, XD I just want to have other people understand. :D |

And you're right too horty, there isn't wrong way to lead, it's all about the high rank you want to be. So, if anyone thinks that the are obligated to follow this guide, you're fine i just made this to give you a little push as if you were learning to ride a bike. :D it is YOUR decision to follow the path i have carved, or you can cut off the path, and choose your own way, I TOTALLY respect that. And as i said in the forum, a high rank can have a special characteristic, not just Strictness and Niceness, it's up to YOU to find that characteristic, and make it glow. |
