This bill proposes a system in which during a session in the House of Commons, a bill proposed and the MPs vote in favour, against or abstain.
This bill sets a rule that Members of the Cabinet/Shadow Cabinet must vote in the way their leader believes in is the right way, unless the leader sets no voting lines, in which case all MPs of Government/Opposition are free to vote however they want. Ordinary MPs have the freedom to vote however they like as voting lines only apply to the Cabinet/Shadow cabinet.
If a (Shadow) Cabinet minister does not wish to vote how their leader instructs they will have to resign from their (Shadow) cabinet position and stand for the remainder of the parliamentary term as an ordinary MP.
Signed, Edward Darlton Prime minister of the United Kingdom |
