--CHARACTER BUILDING--
When thinking over your character's background and current status, it's important to take into account a number of factors. These factors may include: Self factor (SF) - How your character's presence affects the immediate vicinity. Player concentration (PC) - Where most of the players are located; generally in a town. Faction build (FB) - Which faction has the most people under its command. Role characteristics (RC) - What kind of characters your fellow players are.
Pay close attention to the chat and you'll learn the PC and FB of the server. By knowing the PC, you can choose whether or not you want to have a character that lives out in the country, a town, or a base. After living where you do for a while, and while doing your job, you'll learn your SF. Is your SF very high, meaning you are a great leader? Is it low, as in does your character tend to keep in a small group or by yourself? Or is it somewhere in the middle?
--BASIC CHAT RULES-- To speak in quotes or to just type is normal speaking. Example: "I need water." I need water. To speak using asterisks or dashes signifies an action. Examples: *I grab the water bottle* -I grab the water bottle- To speak using parentheses is to signify chat that is outside of the roleplay. This is called Outside Chat. Example: (What is your roleplay name?) (It's John.) These are the generally-accepted chat rules. Using other forms of chat may confuse other players.
--ROLEPLAY ERRORS-- Let's lay down some key terms here.
Godmodding - To affect a roleplay in a way that makes your character complete tasks that are physically implausible. Example: *kills you* *dodges bullet* Both of these are considered godmodding. Killing a fellow character without first asking them, using Outside Chat, is considered godmodding. Dodging bullets at point-blank is also considered godmodding, however there's a catch. If your character is being killed against your will, you should ask them to stop, by using Outside Chat. If they don't comply, ignore the godmodding players.
Cutting - To jump into another group or faction's roleplay in an unacceptable fashion. When you find a group of roleplayers deep within a subway or wasteland, it is encouraged that you exercise strong caution. They may seek to vote-kick you for being near them. If you seek to join them, keep your distance, examine their RC through chat, and plan the proper time to enter. If you plan on raiding another faction or group, it is recommended that you tell them about the impending attack using Outside Chat first. This will cause less confusion and arguing.
General errors - This is a tricky one, since it spans so many possibilities. To be put briefly, if you encounter a roleplayers who affects the story in a way that is unacceptable, ask them to change their actions a bit by using Outside Chat. If they don't comply, it's your choice whether you should ignore them or continue.
--FORMING BONDS--
If you wish to form relations with other roleplayers, you must take into account every factor. You need to decide which FB you would like the most, and work towards that. You must examine the chat and keep an eye on where players are on the map, so you can get a idea of the PC. Finally, once you have your faction, character, and location, you must examine the RC very closely. Be kind to other roleplayers at the start, and you will build bonds very quickly. |

| Only this forum post because I'm too lazy to rewrite the whole thing. I could've just said,"They're the same rules as After The Flash," if I wanted too. |
