| Trying to learn how to import .obj files in Roblox studio, I'm a developer working on a Pre-War Fallout game based in Philadelphia. I'm trying to import some pre-war vehicles into the game. |

I am very good at building, Insulting my work does not change that, as you probably have not even seen my work and are basing my ability to build on my appearance. |

Either you are trolling or you are just being rude, I have no idea why you would be doing either.
I'm asking for help, not critique on my building ability. |

neither! what critiquing? i am helping ya fallout-esque building is difficult to do because if you don't pay attention to every detail it looks stupid which is why i said to work on building before you attempt it another reason being you should never import .obj's, and build everything yourself

Fallout Game Pristine ammo box: http://www.roblox.com/Fallout-Philadelphia-Ammo-Box-Physics-item?id=306331842
Fallout Game Electrical Outlet: http://www.roblox.com/Fallout-Philadelphia-Objects-ES1-item?id=305579908
This is how far into detail I go...
Fallout Game Soda Cup: http://www.roblox.com/Fallout-Philadelphia-Soda-Cup-item?id=306457892
I want to import .obj files for the vehicles because it is nearly impossible to make them by using the Union function in studio. By the way I'm on a developing team if you wanted to know.
Frankly some .obj Imports just look awesome: http://www.roblox.com/2010-smart-fortwo-FREE-item?id=294375114 |

The game where you can see some of my work: http://www.roblox.com/games/70582234/Fallout-Game-Project-Special-Showcase-1
So does anyone know how to import .obj files to Roblox? Does it involve a plugin? |

No, .obj are also better for not lagging the game I think.
And if you saw some of my building, why did you say I should get better? My building is almost an exact replica of the ammo box from the fallout games. |

they're not better for 'not lagging the game' at all. they're consist of massive amounts of parts to account for the large amounts of hexagonal figures used in the full scale game which you're ripping from. :|
it's not really an exact replica and the problem is that you tried so hard to go into detail that you made it inefficient. ammo boxes are found throughout the wasteland, easily 1000s of them, and your 'replica' has got too many parts |

I think unions count and load as whole parts...so there are only around 10 or 15 parts in it. :/
Also this is pre-war fallout game philadelphia...there probably wont be many ammo boxes. Why would I leave them out anyway? |

Obj files are just a popular 3D object file format. Importing them into roblox doesn't create a special new object, it just recreates the object out of many parts because roblox has no scriptable mesh capabilities.
If you want to actually learn how to import an obj file you first need to learn how the data is stored in the file. |

| Also having an obj file imported as a union is not possible unless it has almost no detail. |

"your own fallout game that's lower quality ok you should of just said so"
I'm done talking to you, I don't talk to trolls who think that they are better than everyone. Please do not respond to this post by further insulting me, I get that you do not like me for some unknown reason.
I'm asking how to import .obj files, clearly it is possible since I've seen a .obj import work perfectly, and it was not converted into bricks.
I just want to know how. It is that simple.

@hunxrepair
Thank you. I wasn't going to put the .obj in a union though, I just build using unions sometimes. |
