Recently, we've acquired a load of new builders onto the team, so I'm making this to save repeating myself yet again.
Over at 1+, we use Skype as our primary form of communication. We don't actually make calls and all of that, we just use the instant messaging. If you want to join the team, you have to have a skype, and use it actively.
Once on the team, we only use increments that are multiples of .25. (.25, 5, 10.5, .0625, etc). This is to avoid cracks. If you're working on something that requires more detail, smaller increments are allowed. It is simply required that you use .25+ for all of the "regular" building that goes on.
No designs that have a massive amount of parts without an extremely legitimate reason are allowed. We on average break 10k parts easily, and unions are a massive pain unless it's a vehicle or something. For this reason, we strongly push minimal parts except where necessary.
It is expected that you, as a hypothetical builder for 1+ Studios, build at whatever PBS we're currently working on, regularly. That being said, life is obviously a greater priority than roblox, so it's not like I'm requesting something insane when I ask for, say, 2 or 3 hours a week. (Let me just say that if you were doing the minimum of that spectrum, that's only 20 minutes, 6 of 7 days in a week.) That of course is even EASIER to accomplish with our frequent "group builds" that usually occur on the weekends, where we all get together and hammer it out for a few hours. Let me just say again that I understand life is a priority. If you can't make these deadlines every once in a while, that's fine - Just let me know.
HOWEVER, if you're a new builder or looking to join, please don't waste my time. If you know for a fact that you won't be able to average at LEAST 2 hours a week, please just don't even waste a spot on the team. I am an upper class-man in high school right now who is taking 4 college courses. I promise you, unless you're in college, I have more homework than you. That being said, I usually average 6 hours a week on the game. Yes, it probably helps that I'm leading it, but my point is made.
Anyways... That's that. Figured I'd put it all here so I can't miss any details about it, and I don't have to re-explain it every dang time we get someone new.
Much love -GO |
