Disclaimer: I am not a CoD fanboy, I think that CoD is flawed, but it is not a terrible game. So unless you live under a rock, you have probably heard of Call of Duty. However, many people hate Call of Duty, I think that CoD is a good game, but it needs to be improved. I think the reason people hate it is because of it's community, the commmunity is made up of squeakers, MLG pros and Illuminati. Why do you think people hate it? |

"Why do you think people hate it?"
Because people haven't pegged onto the fact you can mute people. |

To be honest, I think there are two sides, with one liking FPS games but not Call of Duty and the other liking FPS games and do like CoD. Those who don't like FPS's in general don't care.
For those who play them, I think it's the whole "linear gameplay" debate that comes with any FPS game in existence. |

The Call of Duty series gets so much hate because it had a modest start with it's first 3 games. Nothing too bad, but not the best in varying categories. Then, when COD4 Came out, it was decreed the best game ever mad by some source and many fans
Since then, however, the games have just been the same, with the same map layouts, same graphics, same storyline and setting, and so on and so forth.
The Modern Warfare Trilogy did a GREAT job of shaking things up a bit, with different maps, new locations, TONS of Character development, and a plot involving one of the most evil humans to be brought into a video game: Vladimir Makarov, which dragged on for the entire trilogy.
ok, His "death" was "eh", but when compared to the build-up from the 1st game of the trilogy, it was pathetic. And yes, I know it gets released on a yearly basis. That's not a good thing: It never is.
The 12 Year olds who play the games, which are often rated "M" for Mature (18+ year old players only), all add fuel to the hated by either using the most overpowered weapons in the multiplayer/Single-player campaigns, but they also swear, cuss, yell, and scream when they start to lose, which has helped give it a bad rep.
Also, it constantly competes with the Battlefield series, since they're both FPS games and outsold each other at times.
And also, there's plenty of hype for each game, which is a bit. . . disturbing and odd Lastly, Activision. They've been greedy, and somewhat (No, mostly) ignorant of their fanbase and the haters as well. And they constantly releases these games EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.
In conclusion, COD gets so much hated because it started out modestly successful, then with the help of "Activision", it became really successful, and it gets hated on so much because it's so successful, gets released constantly on a yearly-basis, and usually has some-to-no effort put in these games. COD Ghosts is looking to be innovative, and bring a lot of new features, and I'm honestly looking forward to it.

You see,
call of duty is not hated by the majority of gamers,
it's just that the majority pretends to hate it because their favourite youtube personality said that COD is bad.

People don't hate the Call of Duty games, they just hate the very concept of Call of Duty because bandwagons are fun.
Nobody ever says "I disliked this CoD because of (legitimate reason.)"
It's always "CoD sucks, all of it, it just does, everyone knows that, it's a fact of life." |

| The haters: 50% of them actually really like the game, but they just say it to be cool, 25% are people who are too nostalgic and cant move on from their MW2 (which is really getting old) and the other 25% of them are people who say "This game is better than *Blank* because *Insert BS reason here* |

| I'll be honest- I really started disliking CoD after BLOPS 2. I enjoyed most CoD games up to Ghosts, with the last good one IMO being BlOPS2, which is my favourite in the franchise. Anyways, ghosts was a really meh game and I was disappointed so much when I got AW because, well, it was just a bad game. It ruined what made CoD fun for me, and that was not just shooting people with assault rifles and not using any strategy other than shooting people. The only reason I play CoD is because I enjoy sniping in a nice little nest, and having fun, and riot shielding because being a turtle is just too fun. Advanced warfare is just jump and shot, jump and shoot. After AW, I don't think I will buy another CoD game. |

See, that was a legitimate opinion. You never see those with CoD. |

CoD is hated because its the same thing every year But its not, they just push out a game almost every single year Which makes it hard to tell the diffrence
Another reason is the community, shame theres not much online game with good community

| So far hate everything beyond BO2, CoD has a crap community, new games usually = new terrible layout/ bad maps/same guns. Super repitive, the most repitive series I've ever seen. Reviewers still giving this new trash 10/10s like Halloween candy. |

| It's kinda like FN@F. It's the same thing every time. Let's not forget the squeakers who cuss like crazy when someone kills them in online mode. That, and most of the people are bandwagoners who hate without any proper reason. |
