Hidden Webpages, Shops, Rare Catalog Items is the Grotto. ∏ (If you don't like it then you never saw it is my Motto). ¤ (full title)
TL;DR [Hidden catalog webpages should be added to ROBLOX. They should only be able to be entered from a certain webpage on the site and should have a different color design than regular ROBLOX webpages to identify them. They should contain items specifically made to be sold on that page and items already sold in the Catalog but have a special sale only for that page.
Grottoes: hidden places, should also be added as an Event of sorts and should give away something to make them worth looking for like an earnable Badge, winnable item, etc.
These "Shops" should have special names to give them an identity, and cannot be made by players (neither can Grottoes).
UP FOR DEBATE: Can be rewarded 10 TIX (or 1 R$) for discovering a Hidden Shop or Grotto.]

Hey ROBLOXian forumers today I have a couple of ideas that I think should be integrated into ROBLOX, both of a similar nature.
My first idea is an idea for an extension to the Catalog. It is called "Hidden Shops" and basically what that means is that now ROBLOX hides certain webpages that can only be accessed from a certain place on the Catalog or website by using hotspots or an icon to link to them (for example, one can be linked from the ROBLOX logo at the top or on a gear, even an ad or something). Once you hover over the hotspot or the icon, your cursor turns into a question mark.
In these hidden Catalog webpages are basically special Catalog items specific to that page and/or regular Catalog Items that can be found on a special sale only there. These webpages have a specific name as if it were a shop like Builderman's Emporium or Telamart or the Shedletsky SuperStore (I'm bad at coming up with names) and a special color design or pattern (but still have the layout of a normal ROBLOX webpage).
This could be added to hype up items and make them more sentimental. Instead of saying "Eh I just bought it no big deal really." you'd be able to say "Man this thing took me forever to get. I had to search for an hour for the shop it was being sold at until I just looked up how to find it on YouTube, but man it was worth it. I probably should've went to YouTube first though." Plus it is a great opportunity to make themed items and gears.
The second idea I had is exactly the same idea, but with Places. We'd call them Grottoes and they are basically places that follow these guidelines:
1. On a Hidden webpage. 2. Must have an earnable Badge or winnable item.
Wouldn't it make your ROBLOX life more interesting if one of your friends suddenly invited you to a party and said this: "Heyo I just found this E-P-I-C Grotto you gots ta follow me to it A.S.A.P!"
Here are some Bonus things: "Hidden webpages found" stat on Profile (UP FOR DEBATE) +10 TIX or +1R$ on discovery of Hidden webpage (UP FOR DEBATE) Hints tab up on main ROBLOX navbar and announcement on new Hidden webpage creation (MANDATORY) ROBLOX is only one who can make Hidden Shops (PROBABLY) Administrators can make Hidden Grottoes (<-- THIS)
Please support and if you don't like this idea act like you never saw it. No rude comments please and thank you.
Summon me for clarification (or longer explanation post), questions, ideas, and (CONSTRUCTIVE) arguments.
The heavem is out!

Build on to Bonus Ideas:
Occurrence patterns (Make it so they appear on certain days or times. Posted in Hints) (UP FOR DEBATE)
Add "Discoveries" tab to ROBLOXians' inventories (Here you can see what they have found but not how to find it. It shows all the Hidden webpages they've found. A ROBLOXian who has one in their inventory can easily get to it again by clicking it but only the owner of the inventory can. Add-on: Outrageous Builders' Club members open up links from their Discoveries for public use for a fee of 200 R$ and each one needs to be sold for a minimum of this formula: (b - (m x d)) + 100 Let b mean base tix (200), d mean the Hidden Webpages Found stat and m equal months since the Player discovered it. This formula turns into 200 once (b - (m x d)) has a negative answer) (UP FOR DEBATE/ALSO FOR HELP WITH ALGORITHM SINCE I DIDN'T SPEND MUCH TIME ON IT)
Make Grottoes impossible to favorite. (MANDATORY)
Make Hidden Shops disappear after a while and their exclusive items either: 1. Disappear from the Catalog and become rare (marked by an icon of some sort) 2. Go to the Catalog for same price it was before. (OPTIONAL:) Make the Shops and Grottoes have an automatic 25% chance to disappear each year. Make their items have an automatic 50% chance of disappearing or staying once the shop they're in closes. Make it so ROBLOXians can pay to increase the chance of the shop staying open. 1000 x years open TIX = +10% is reasonable to me since many people are buying.

Thank you for the support so far guys
I really appreciate it and I know this probably won't be implemented, but I'ma try and make the people in charge aware of this suggestion.
Edits: Change 1000 x years out TIX = +10% to 10,000 because 1000 is to easy now that I think about it. So it would cost 50,000 TIX to garuntee it sticks around another year. Still pretty easy for ROBLOXians to fundraise that amount but still. The more popular ones can have larger prices. Still looking for a better formula for sell price of Discoveries. Any mathematicians around S&I?
Remember constructive arguments, add-ons, and feedback are all welcome.

Thanks for the support.
I still got other things up for debate, like 10 TIX or 1R$ on discovery (I don't really think it should happen though since that's pretty much free ROBUX which apparently is WNTS). I'm willing to discuss about the subjects though, too.
And yeah nathan they should.

Was this F5ed? Yes it was, no 1-page thread gets 1k+ views in S&I.

Thanks for the support you guys. Really appreciate it.
Feel free to add to this idea. It will be taken more seriously if this thread speaks for more than one person.

Also, hidden catalogs should have regular catalog items for a smaller price.

Nah.
Hiding things is cruel, Inspect Element is intended to find things without trying.

Add-on to idea: Hidden stats found doesn't go up unless you're one of the first thousand to find it OR find it in the week or so. (UP FOR DEBATE) Forget the 10TIX or 1R$ on discovery.
@tery
In a way I kind of agree. Finding something like this could be EXTREMELY hard-if you've got nothing to go on. Discovering these things is more like solving a riddle than actually clicking every webpage until you find it. Plus, people will probably just wait until someone else does the work for them in most cases for the easy ones.
I think I should give people an idea on how this would play out now to make sure they don't just fall in love with the idea and not the outcome: A new hidden whatever comes out-let's say catalog webpage. The first week no one finds it. The next week someone has a YouTube video with instructions on how to find it. (I'ma say you don't get anything for finding it because that's free money honestly and I'm not really for more inflation). Everyone by now has found it and bought stuff from it. A year from now the items you bought disappear from the Catalog and some go back on regular sale.
When you look at it (my visualization wasn't really thorough but my point is this:) people will only struggle with it for a few days really. If everyone in ROBLOX is looking for the same thing how long could it take to find it. You got people doing it for you. Similar things are done, like the Egg Hunt (ha that's the only example I got).
I don't want to change your mind 'cause it's good to think differently because it helps deepen analyzation, but people should also really know how the "Finding" process of this will really go. |

Hidden webpages are stupid because of the horribly stupid imbalance between "easy" and "difficult" webpage finding methods. (AHEM INSPECT ELEMENT AHEM)
Not because it's difficult. |

More ways to feel like a boss?
Ok support.
Here's my input: I agree no money on discovery. Also beating a Place could take you to a link maybe :3
And tery whatttttttt? I kind of understand and I don't. I understand what you're saying but I don't understand how that would stop his idea from working.
Even with people doing it it's not really cheating the system. It's kind of like insurance. They can find it faster sure. But my understanding is that music's idea is more about items and less about finding. Like he said, finding is only a week of the actual process.
On to the next thread!
O yeah I still support. Cool idea |
