ROBLOX Rules of Conduct clearly outline that no offsite links are allowed on any of Roblox's social features such as comments, chat, forum posts, etc. The only exceptions are Twitch.tv, YouTube, and Twitter links. Despite this rule, many people on the forums blatantly ignore it—and they get away with it.

Currently, Roblox moderators are only moderating links to inappropriate content. This goes against Roblox's own rules, which clearly state that no offsite links are allowed except for those three exceptions. Sometimes on the forums, users post links to relevant content, even though it's not allowed. Moderators see this and let them get away with this. Why is that? Roblox moderators are going against their own rules; they're exercising hypocrisy.

Either the moderators update the Rules of Conduct or moderate every single case of offsite link rule violation. A rule is a rule, and the Rules of Conduct shouldn't be misleading the people who actually take the time to read and understand it.

Moderators don't monitor off-site links. A bot is implemented to filter through the various tags the site is associated with to determine if it's appropriate.

It doesn't matter if it's human-moderated or by bots. An offsite link is a violation of the rules and the perpetrator has to be moderated. It's not fair to the people who actually follow the rules.

The rules are the rules. With corrupt moderators that moderate people for minor offenses or for no reason, rules are the only thing we have as users to keep moderators in their place. Moderators can either stop being hypocrites or they can change the rules. The choice is up to them if they want to stop corruption.

I understand what you're saying. It's just that the bot wasn't designed to stop off-site links unless it contains inappropriate content in a sites tags. They'd have to rewrite the bot to correct the issue, which isn't hard...but it does take a fair amount of effort. But even then, it's pretty easy to get around that, by using the URL shorteners to disguise a site as a site that is allowed. It'd be more effective if roblox prevented offsite links all-together, but that would cause problems because it would prevent staff from letting players know that they are streaming, or have a blog that they want to be viewed.

I'm not sure if a website crawler bot actually exists. Let's say it did. Roblox would be saving money if they just gave up on the bot altogether and banned all offsite links. Offsite links are still offsite links no matter what, and they're still a rule violation and need to be moderated. If Roblox just removed the bot altogether, they'd be saving time, money, and effort on repairs on the bot.

I highly doubt this bot actually exists. My explanation was based on something hypothetical.

Admins should just straight out admit it then, instead of convincing us that they're actually listening and that they actually care. They're having us live in a fool's paradise.

It's a shame how many moderators are hypocrites.

There is an exception to most rules. For instance, in OT, there is a list of allowed offsite links.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Moderators always point to the rules of conduct but they don't realize they're being hypocrites.

I undrstand what you're getting at, but I think there just aren't enough mods, since in the 6 years I've played this game I've only met 4...
I think they let things slide as long as there is no explicit content and people don't abuse this "deal" if you would call it that.

Moderator count is not the problem, because there are enough moderators to actually look at each link that's reported. Moderators merely need to moderate the account that violated the rule.

While what about sites where you can view clothing templates, without those links it would be hard.

If they're offsite links, they're not welcome. Moderators can either stop being hypocrites or modify this rule.

that'd be nice... but there's not that many moderators, so it probably isn't possible, sadly :(

It's entirely possible. Moderators actually check out links to see if they're appropriate or not. This suggestion prevents that and actually saves time. When a moderator sees an offsite link, they can just moderate the person. No matter what the link is, the perp broke a rule.

OR

Roblox Rules of Conduct's section about offsite link exceptions could be updated to a precise list of exceptions.

I give you my full support. Even the idea of making a website just to steal a virtual account to a kid minimum game. It's stupid.

Their current rules are very misleading.
They should either enforce them as they said they would, or change them to fit how they're working right now.
