I have another idea, taking place in modern times. This involves Dragonkin, humanoid Dragonpeople.
So, my idea. 56 years ago, a large rift appeared in the sky. It lasted only for a week, and after that, the US government covered it up, claiming that it was an Atmospheric Anomaly. Of course, no one actually believed that. Why? Because atmospheric anomalies (hopefully) don't make babies. Especially not dragon-like ones.
The chaos that ensued can only be described as (by the casual onlooker) as absolutely hilarious. Dragon-person babies started to appear everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE! In garages, on top of porta-potties, in unused trashcans- EVERYWHERE. Of course, this was eventually dealt with by the governments of the world. These dragon babies came with baby blankets, and even had names on them. Unable to justify the studying of these babies to the general public, most governments put them in the system... you know, adoption.
Several months after the initial chaos, another rift appeared. This time, it was small. And only one thing came through- a note. It explained to the government what was happening... why the race, known as Dragon-kin, had sent their children through to the human dimension. Almost none of the information was passed on to the general public, but one piece of information would become apparent to all: The Dragon-kin had magic. Not just paltry illusions, but true, almost super-power magic. Out of this, in the US, the US Department of Dragonkin Management was formed. Their job? To help Dragonkin find jobs. Initially, upon the Dragon-kin reaching adult age, most companies wouldn't give Dragon-kin a job. Until they realized how useful Dragonkin were.
Dragonkin are stronger than humans, usually taller than humans, and have more power than humans. But, being raised in human society, they live as humans.
Now, 56 years have passed. Dragonkin and humans live together as equals. Much of what was said in the note is still a mystery, and most people are fine with that. The USDDM has now become the US Dragonkin Society, and Dragonkin are trained on how to use their magic at age twelve (By elder Dragonkin, of course.)
Though peace exists, there is also violence. Two groups have come to light, the New Order of Dragonkin Supremacy, which wants to take over human society, and the Human Earth Alliance, which wants to exile Dragonkin from society. Both sides are just parts of a war... a war that entered Earth the day the rift opened in the sky.
I've got a lot planned for this, just like I got a lot planned for Transmugic. Any way, I've had this type of idea for a long time. I don't like my original idea, so here you go.

I like this But I don't understand how they were just easily accepted into the society, there's only a minor war. I mean, magical beings from a different dimension will spark some minds that their invading, no? |

True. There will be a bit more of a war, or more social unrest.
Still, they were babies. And remember, the government kept most of what was in the note a secret.

Nice response, unlike how a certain person would just call me off instantly. You have stated that they appears on rooftops, trash cans, and other sorts of insane places. Wouldint the public know? |

Yeah, the public already knew that weird stuff was happening. Eventually they would come to know that it was some sort of magical thing, but that all kinda got jumbled into the chaos.
