We know the technology exists, ROBLOX has been giving away hats and gifts for years that people have earned from in-game.
What a terrific incentive for playing a game where there is an opportunity to win an awesome outfit or t-shirt (as these are the only items we can create).
This would be excellent to show off how good of a player you are when only a handful of people have won a specific tournament shirt, for example.
Or show you've played a specific game if you're a fan like with badges.
The catch? This can't be free to install on your game else people will use it as a loophole to avoid using the catalog and give away free clothes.
Thoughts? |

Sweet idea.
Example. For group games, instead of the player buying uniforms, they can earn a uniform specific to their rank when they progress in-game. |

| Support, but I fear ROBLOX might favour the devs on this one. |

How will this work...? Are you trying to say there should be a cost to implement a script? If so, no support simply because this would compel ROBLOX to make more paid script lines. |

The fee is to prevent people from creating an outfit, and then play their own game to get it for free. I'd pay up to 1k bux or would you rather this was a BC only feature?
If there is a fee, it's a premium product, that makes your game stand out from others, it's not special if anyone can do it. |

| And the fee isn't to activate a script, why can't it work like a badge or game pass? |

| Oh yes, I'd expect the items to be regulated just like every other decal and clothing. |

1k R$ for this....Nahhhhh.

| In the way that you activate a game pass or set up a badge, out-of-game set up which then prompts an in-game trigger. |

Although I like this idea, I do see a problem.
People could use Developer Products (most likely) or Gamepasses to sell the clothes lower than normal, maybe like 5 RS, nonetheless, they will be bypassing the price floor and will most likely make a profit.
1/2 Support. I think, "trusted" developers should be allowed to use this feature. There would need to be requirements, like veteran and homestead badge or something.

@Power I appreciate the concern and it did cross my mind. Hence the installation fee initially, but I can see how this might still create a profitable loophole.
Alternatively, there could be a limit on the amount of items given as prizes, and then the dev needs to renew. This would certainly help sell the idea of 'limited time only' at least.
But I'm sure ROBLOX will 'iron out the creases' if they like the idea.
Cheers! |

Yeah, but still. The possibility still exists. ROBLOX could iron the problems out but it will most likely involve moderation. Current moderators would obviously need to be paid more. And maybe new moderators may be needed.
ROBLOX doesn't really make a profit: 1000 R$ compared to the salaries of moderators.

Lets say ROBLOX get 5 dollars per 1k R$, it wouldn't take long to moderate each game and you're probably only talking a couple thousand devs a year with enough spare bux to do so. This could easily be added to the mods current job role and make money doing so. It would need to take them over 15 minutes per game for this idea to make a loss in that respect. |

| Assuming they're on aprox. 20 dollars an hour. Reasonable for US economy? I'm from UK. |

| I think for "trusted" devs (They must be a two-year veteran and have the bricksmith badge) You can assign a clothing item (hat, shirt, pants, gear, etc.) to a badge via the badge's configure page. For hats and gear, it must be one ROBLOX trusts you with (i.e. devents) and for Shirts and Pants, you must be the creator (Group game? Group owner!) |

| If it's a gear or hat, devs won't have control of what they're giving away as prizes, and it won't be specific to the game. Furthermore, gear and hats create direct revenue for ROBLOX, they may not be inclined to give these away. |
