How to Be a Thugette Want to be a hip-hop thugette? Brush up your ghetto style and sharpen your street smart skills to cultivate a new kind of lifestyle. Read on.
1 Clean out your closet- throw away all your old non-ghetto clothes. Go shopping. Brand names such as Baby Phat, G-Unit and Apple Bottoms are good brands. Don't dress so that you come off as cheap - you might get guys, but chances are you won't get any respect from them.
2 Distinguish your own appearance. If you wear makeup, go for a unique style. Rather than the whole "perfect and flawless" look, go for something more eyecatching - use colorful eye makeup and lipstick. Do what you want with your hair, but popular styles would be curls, or a weave.
3 Be outgoing. You don't have to be an extrovert, and you can still need your own space, but if you're meek or shy, brush up on your social confidence skills and show people you're not afraid of anything.
4 Try getting into the music. Rap, hip-hop, r&b, and reggae are all good genres - pop will get you labelled a "loser" or "Try hard". If you don't like that kind of music, don't force yourself to listen to rap or R&B or the like - just be yourself, but understand it's not a part of the whole ghetto, thugette style.
5 Get a crew. Establish strong friendships - it doesn't have to be with a lot of people, but try to be friends with more than just one or two people. Make sure you can all trust each other - that's what crews are all about.
Tips Try learning how to dance hip-hop. Try to be happy with who you are. No amount of make-up, money, or clothes can replace confidence.
Warnings Don't change all at once - you will be called a poser. Try to complete one step every week.
