| What're some mistakes people make when they're working on their own project? (I don't mean the obvious stuff like free modeling everything, copying murder clones, etc). |

| I may as well start. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make it overestimating their first project's success and giving up if it fails. |

After a while they stop working on the game and get bored of it. My advice is to play it once every day, even if its only for a minute. |

| Not using as many unions / meshparts as possible Not putting everything in ServerStorage and cloning it when you need it Not using RemoteFunctions for everything Not sending at least 1KB of data when firing a RemoteFunction. The more data you send, the harder it is for hackers to hack your game Not putting 10 mtx buttons on the screen Not randomly showing mtx popups Not making your game pay2win Not adding day 1 mtx Not disabling mouse lock Not adding blur, bloom, sun ##### ### ##### ############# beautiful post-processing effects Not kicking guests |

| I think if you create a game only to make money, it won't be as successful as if you make a game because you like the idea and the game. |

The biggest mistake?
Being creative.
Unfortunately, players have a mindset. If it is simple, they play it.
Tycoons, Fps, Roleplay. Requires no hard gameplay mechanics, you can go in, learn it in 90 seconds and play for fun.
Those are the 3 biggest genres on roblox [FACT].
If you go outside of these genres for your 1st game, don't expect anything. Wildly different games require you to have a fan base. you cant build a fan base unless you go make a clickbait game. |

ExtremeBuilder15, that reminds me of a few people
scripton - Makes a game with 10 minutes of gameplay; very unfinished - Already pay2win - Exploiters deleting the map because FE isn't enabled - Abandons the game; definitely because it wasn't making as much money as he wanted
pa00 - Makes a good game, has a few bugs though - Makes it pay2win. Bugs still not fixed - Abandoned because it wasn't making as much money as he wanted - Updated recently. Game is very broken now and original bugs still not fixed
PlaceRebuilder - Starts work on new R2D (before R2DA) - No mtx, game is very good so far - Adds mtx - Bugs start going unfixed. Most take months to fix, if they ever get fixed at all - Ignoring problems that should be fixed (tripping people with vans, vote kick being abused (I even saw him get kicked one time, lmao), etc) - Now it's full of people with exploited data - Makes R2DA which ends up a failure :')

| Many only test for things they know. They forget to try and test for bugs that may be unknown. They know how to play the game, and therefore forget the fact that others do not. |
