| I guess, but Austin doesn't have a pro soccer club, and we will never have one, so maybe that's why. I have been attached to the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs since childhood because I've liked them for so long. I didn't even know the United States had a professional soccer league like the MLS until about 2008. And I watched the 2006 FIFA World Cup. |

| I'm sorry again to all US soccer fans but I don't consider any league under the MLS to be a "professional" league. I really don't. I have witnessed USL soccer in person and seen a few NASL games to tell you that it is not professional soccer. Sorry. |

| Sorry Alejandro. There's only a handful of second-tier leagues in the world that I would consider "professional". Probably only 3 or 4. |

| NBA D-League players also receive a salary (albeit barely anything). Are they professional? Nah. |

Definition of professional:
"(of a person) engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as a pastime."
USL is definitely professional, soccer is not a pastime for any player in the league |

@jimbobucky So the NBA D-League is also professional? Because I'm pretty sure that even though they may have a second job they probably get paid more in the D-League than that other job considering it's a salary of around $25k plus paid housing. |

| Stick with it. Trust me, it could be way worse. At least you get the opportunity to play and you should be thankful for that. |

The average is about 40k. Some make much-much more, some make less. (talking about the USL) |

| But if the D-League is considered professional, and the top 3 tiers of US soccer is professional, then being a professional isn't as hard as it's made out to be. Chances are none of us on this SF will ever be a professional but it's always exaggerated that being a pro is extremely difficult. |

"MLS is professional"
When did I say Major League Soccer wasn't professional? All I said is that the games are way too high scoring for me. I don't even watch Eredivisie, Eredivisie is much worse in terms of scoring |
