I have loved football since I was 4 years old. Watching Texas Longhorns football was a thing down in my mom's family since a lot of my cousins were new UT grads and all, and UT's like our NFL team. The 2005 season was probably one of the most memorable sporting seasons of any team in my entire life. Over the years, I've been watching Dallas Cowboys football, Tennessee Titans football like my dad, and Texas State Bobcats football most recently. Each team has done pretty well at various points in my life. I've started playing high school football 3 years ago, and the year before I got to my high school, we made it to the state semifinals and lost to state powerhouse Allen. We were good. Now we're 0-5 and the only team in the entire school that's won a game is the JV B-team. Going to football practice doesn't even excite me that much anymore. I feel as if it's a chore. I hate watching the Longhorns and Bobcats lose off special teams mistakes or because a defense is hesitant to even touch people. I hate seeing Tony Romo and Dez Bryant get injured and then the Cowboys are now at risk of missing the playoffs. This may just be a short-term this-season rant, but honestly, football isn't even fun for me anymore.

Many people have had it worse before but this football season is just terrible for me. Even if the Cowboys do well, my high school football experience and my college football following will be a complete disaster this year and possibly next year too. At the moment, no one except for me can complain. |

| In case y'all don't know, I have much more passion for HS football and college football. NFL doesn't even come close for me. If the Cowboys do well this season, it wouldn't make much of an impact for me as much as if Texas or Texas State were to finish 6-6 this season |

"you could be a vikings fan and have your team be cursed from ever winning the super bowl" Does it look like the Cowboys or Titans are going to win a Super Bowl in the next two decades?
"What's wrong with the MLS?" There's too many damn goals. Is there no defense in MLS? No offense to Rune or any MLS fan out there |

Try being an international sports fan from Finland.
You would feel exactly like an "oppressed" tumblr SJW, but actually have a good reason for feeling that way. |

| Hang in there man. I'm a Dallas fan myself and I look at it like this- in about 8-10 weeks, we get our players back. I honestly can't see us going 0-8 or 0-10 in those weeks. 2-6? 3-7? Yes. But then we have a 4-6 or 5-7 record with 2 or 4 games to do something with our players back. I am not expecting a win tomorrow. I am not expecting a win against New England at all either. We just need to survive a couple of games in this poor division that may get better, I don't know. We just need to believe in a Quarterback with a 5-20 career record, and I'm not being funny or sarcastic. |

"although this might be a depressing time, it is for a short time." Texas has been a national contender from 2004 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2015 has looked like dog crap. Both my parents are UT alumni. I'm a Longhorn fan but honestly it sucks being one right now.
"yes the horns made some really messed up mistakes, but atleasts its only special teams, right?" Right, but games are lost by special teams. Kicker kicks wide right one week, punter lets the snap go through his hands another week. What's next game? Punter fumbles 10 times? We're playing TCU next week. It's not going to be pretty.
"with the cowboys, i wouldnt worry, we have terrance williams and jason witten, not to mention cole beasly lucky whitehead devin street and more, but seriously, its gonna be aight." Lance Dunbar is going to have to bail us out so hard tomorrow...

"There's too many damn goals. Is there no defense in MLS? No offense to Rune or any MLS fan out there"
To answer this as best as I can:
The MLS is still a growing league, and part of what it takes to grow is getting more fans to come to games. Diligent defenders don't do that, flashy and instinctive attacking players do. It appeals more to the casual fan. This can be highlighted with the MLS' DP system: Take a look around the league, and you will see that most designated players are forwards or attack-friendly midfielders.
I can see what you are talking about by many goals, but there are not "too many damn goals". Here's the statistics from this year's MLS season compared to 2014-15 seasons of the top European leagues:
Eredivisie: 3.08 GPG Bundesliga: 2.75 GPG MLS: 2.73 GPG Serie A: 2.69 GPG BPL: 2.57 GPG Ligue 1: 2.49 GPG
I guess it's all based on personal preference, but I say give the MLS another chance if you ever come around to it. It's much more rewarding supporting the growth of a domestic league and your "local" team rather than an established club in Europe. |

| I don't watch the Eredivisie or Eerste Divisie. If I were to watch a Dutch league, it would be to track an Iranian or Peruvian player. There's even more goals than MLS in that league. |

No, I really don't, I'm dead serious
Probably after I graduate from high school I'm going to stop having to do with football altogether |

Can you acknowledge that part tho? |
