There are tutorials on Youtube and on the ROBLOX wiki (The official one) that you can look at for help.
As for making it look good, what is your map being themed? And what type of game are you making?(if you are even making a game) |

I recommend starting with a floor plan.
Use different colors with a key for instance.
Red : Floor Blue : Window Green : Obstacle Yellow : Elevated Area
This allows for you to do things easier such as lining up sights to make good gunfights across maps. This way of making maps tends to result in the best game play. After this is done, you can add the details and theme the map. |

Ok,
If you are going to make a FPS game, then be sure to make the map small(ish) and be sure to use a reasonable bring count, don't use 80K bricks, stay detailed but don't go overboard, I'd recommend atleast 5K minimum per map. So others will not lag and can enjoy your game. |

You could use Roblox Studio plugins to build, like F3X Building
or you could just use the original Roblox tools. (that's what I do)
or... you could build in-game using building tools. |

I can't live without the qCmdUtl plugin after I started using it; mainly for the duplication feature.
Dunno if this helps but here is a link to it anyways

I use mainly the Roblox tools. However, some items such as Copy + Pasting and rotating is what makes bricks uneven. Therefore I use other plugins, preferably qCmdUtl.
Also, there are many map inspiration pictures. You can find it on google or some other search engine. If you want to remake a map from some other game, just specifically search for it otherwise your keywords should be general ideas not specific words. The less specific you search for, the more broad the pictures are, therefore more ideas you can find. |
