This stuff rarely happens. Concussions are a pain, but they can happen anywhere. I had to quit contact sports because of it.
Just be careful with em. |

| it had nothing to do with head down or mouthguard. his helmet simply hit the ground hard when being tackled. |

| I've played AAA Hockey for 4 years and I (use to play) football for 2. How the hell do you get concussion at practice. I'm pretty sure his teammate wasn't trying to kill him and if he just got concussion because he got tackled so hard his head/helmet went flying into the ground. He's weak. He shouldn't have been able to have guy smoke him like that. |

do you even know what a concussion is? it has nothing to do with how strong or weak you are, the rock and a 7 year old could get a concussion from the exact same force |

I've gotten a concussion from rather simple stuff.
My second (or third? I Can't remember) concussion happened because I dove for a save, landed on my shoulder too hard, and my head bounced at an awkward angle. It gave me a pretty gnarly concussion and knocked me out. |

| a full speed full contact drill leaves opportunity for injury. the reason you dont play football anymore is because youre too weak and scrawny |

I've only got one concussion and it was stupid.
I was playing soccer tennis when I was 10-11 and I went for a volley and lost my balance, only to land on my head and get knocked out. |

| ^ I'm just saying if he was someone strong and kid was coming at him from the front. He should of been able to make contact and just gotten tackled normally. Not get smoked and get "a concussion so bad he was blind for 5 minutes. his pupils were huge, his mouth was gaping open, he was barely conscious, and his face went so white i couldnt describe it." |

^ I'm assuming that your coach wasn't running blindside hits drill. So I'm assuming the player who got concussed should been able to see the hit coming.
"because youre too weak and scrawny" or because hockey is way better |

It doesn't really matter if it was a blindside hit or not? lol.
Why is this a debate? Any degree of impact can cause any degree of concussion. Concussions aren't something to fool around with or to misjudge. There's a very real chance that this kid was very close to having a serious form of permanent injury from this lol. |

| for your information he it was a specific hitting drill among lineman where thr purpose is to move the other one back. kids were going full force, in this particular instance he was facing a kid older and bigger than him, and fell to the ground. his neck snapped back on the sudden fall, and he was concussed. thanks for making uneducated presumptuous statements |

concussions happen in the NFL so you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
would you call NFL players who get concussions weak?

^^
It was an "uneducated guess" I had reason to believe what I said. I'm sorry I didn't know your coach would be running full speed impact drill during practice and seeing a smaller guy going up against a "huge" bigger older guy and the coach knowing in his head this drill could end badly and yet still run it |

Say what you want.
Yes I understand that concussions can happen to anyone and you can be strong and still get concussed.
All I'm saying is if the kid knew he was going up against a size mismatch he should of embraced for it more. Like get lower to ground. So he wouldn't get the life knocked out of him. |
