There's another pressing matter, however. This style of Speeder, although extremely fast, is not capable of intergalactic warp. Nor can it reach light speed. You'll need a full-on ship for that.

Now, there are two places where you can get a cheap ship, as your wallet only holds 30,000 Union Credits. There's the safe, protected, yet also extremely dangerous (since you're the Outlaw) place of the International Galactic Free Market. However, this is an extremely dangerous place, as you're found in Galaxy A92. Galaxy A92 is the ninety-second galaxy away from the known center of the universe, The Capital Galaxy, or Galaxy A1. Going into the market could easily attract the attention of the police.

Or, you could go to Pirate Haven. Although it is a well-known dangerous area, the police and armies have never actually managed to find it. It's said that only a person with a completely unclean record would be able to enter. Since the rough location is known, you could always fly there and see if it's possible for you to enter. I mean, you're the Outlaw; your record will never be clean, no matter how much public service you do. Sorry.

We must have died alone, a long long time ago.

Was I dead, doomed to an afterlife resembling that of a nightmare? No, I can't have died. I haven't felt the Reaper's cold grip on my soul. I must be alive, and in my current situation, I'm not sure if I'd rather be dead, for this world and situation seemed ever large, and I ever small. If this was a problem that I could take apart, examine, and fix, then all would be well. But humans are not machinations. Nothing on the inside matters, all that matters is appearances.

We are but actors on an ever-weathering stage, complete with a fading neon sign that once read "LIFE," but the "F" has shorted out and nobody's chosen to replace it. Whoever we actors are on the inside matters either little or not. We are fools, we do not look at what's beneath a person's skin, and we willingly deceive ourselves from Man's true nature by doing so.

The universe is always changing. As things change, I have to change too. At least, for now. The playwright called God has issued me my role for this Act. I'm to play the Outlaw, and failing in this role will lead to my curtains closing sooner than expected. For all intents and purposes, I am a killer, an arsonist, and a destroyer of cultures and peoples. I am the man who sold the world.

When I play this role, I have to stay in-character. As long as everybody sees me as The Outlaw, that's who I have to be. There's no place for me in the Galactic Free Market. And so, I flew this temporary Speeder towards the general area of where the Pirate Haven might be. In doing so, there was only one thought left on my mind. I should've brought a gun.

Upon entering, you are sucked into a vortex; sprawled beyond you is the massive expanse of Pirate Haven. Vendors of all sorts sell their wares beneath you, and you spot a recruiting tavern, a cheap ship, ship accessories, and ship part salesman, as well as an untraceable weapons armory.

Ships cost 10,000 at the cheap vendor. Crew just need persuasion to come; since you're the Outlaw, they'll respect you. A laser pistol costs 500 Credits. Assault rifles cost 1500, and galling guns 3500.

The last thing I wanted was a crew from this place. Criminals aren't loyal, no matter how much they respect a man. First chance they'll get, they'll steal the clothes off my back. I decide to purchase a laser pistol from a weapons vendor, then buy off the cheap ship. Once that was done, I wandered around looking to see if there was anybody willing to buy my Speeder. I wouldn't be needing it anymore.

You see a dreadlocked woman, looking frail and a bit hunchbacked, who buys junk ships.

ughghg, dreadlocks are so last century...

Oh, did I mention? Humans have gained the ability to live forever, that is, if they take a special elixir known as LifeXir Version 21. They work on new versions all the time, but the most advanced one (that most people know of) is Version 21. However, once you hit about age 250, you start getting frail. Once you hit 500, you need life support. Version 22 is supposed to extend that up to at least 650.

Anyway, she'll buy your speeder from you at 1500 credits, since it was in fairly good shape, and an old model. Also, it was already untraceable, which made it easier to sell.

You see a poster on her stand's leg with your face on it. It flashes:
"WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE"
"THE OUTLAW"
"APPROXIMATE HEIGHT (YOUR HEIGHT)"
"REWARD: ALIVE, 1 QUINTILLION CREDITS
DEAD, 1 TRILLION CREDITS"

I don't expect anyone to try to arrest or shoot me here. This is no haven for bounty hunters. In any case, I had my ship, my gun, and a bit of money left to spare. I probably wouldn't get very far with that cheap-ship. At least, not in its current condition. I could probably tinker with it on my own, but I lack any necessary parts to do so. If I really wanted to survive for long while everybody wants me dead or in chains, I'd need to get to work improving my ship. Maybe, if I took care of it and made sure to upgrade it when I could, I won't even have to worry about buying a new one and risking that ship being traced.

With those thoughts in mind, I headed over to the ship parts salesman to see what sorts of goodies are on offer.

(Are you going to be keeping track of my money like a very nice and good and other positive adjectives GM, or do I need to do that?)

I decide to buy the secure portholes, secure cannon fixtures, Repair Kits, and a Trilon cannon. That should be enough for now. Having purchased my parts, I made my way to my ship to take a look inside for the first time.

You currently have 12900 Union Credits.

~NOTICE~
Beware how you spend Union Credits. THEY CAN BE TRACED!
This is how the general location of Pirate's Haven was found, so watch out.
~NOTICE~

Anyway, your ship? You walk up a ramp as you enter to find it to be... somewhat shabby. To the left is a crew's quarters, while to the right is an officer's quarters. Leading down a doorway from the crew's quarters and turning left is the engine room. It has titanium armoring, which in this day and age, is sub-par. To the right of the engine room is the Particle Accelerator.

Science, since the year 2034, has taken great leaps and bounds. Particle Accelerators now allow you to jump at above-light speeds through space, called "warping", using a special kind of fuel known as Particle Fuel. Since the year 3012, Particle Fuel has been mixed with regular fuel, and it's much more potent. You no longer need to buy both types of fuel; the mixed version will do. At the head of the ship is the also titanium plated cockpit. Within this cockpit is a Particle Acceleration Control System (an entire hardware board devoted to the warping), as well as a steering wheel. There's also a throttle; it appears the maximum speed of this ship without warp is one LPS, which stands for lightyear per second. Not too too bad, but there's much better out there. It'll won't be enough to run away from some of the police frigates, however, but it can handle patrol ships.

You have the ability to take off right now, or you could wait and install your Trilon Cannon with its porthole apparatus, as well as the several portholes. Luckily, there's storage for your sheet metal, fuel, and repair kits.

No use hauling around junk without putting it to use. I get to work on installing the portholes and Trilon Cannon, positioning the Cannon at the front of my ship if possible. Once done, there were a few things I wanted to check out. I headed to the cockpit and looked at any meters there to see how much fuel is already in the ship. Once that was done, I made my way to the officer's quarters to see what kind of furnishings I have. Probably not much, judging by how low-quality everything else seems to be.

You walk into the officer's quarters, greeted by a velvet carpet and fine mahogany chairs that have been nailed down to the floor, accompanied by a table. It seems to be, by far, the best room in the entire place; it has also been coated by titanium as to prevent the officers from dying. It has bunk beds on either side, with a WarpBathroom and a WarpSink included in the room. These effectively warp water to your location so that you may use the utilities.

You were able to install the cannon beneath your seat. If you pull a lever next to your seat, it will lower to the cannon chamber and put the ship on its mediocre autopilot.

The portholes have all been placed on the ship.

Are you ready to take off?

I suppose the officer's quarter is where all the money for building this ship went to. Good for me then. Maybe I could invest a bit later on for my own private Captain's quarters. Hmph, look at me. On the run and I'm already thinking about indulging in luxuries. Well, no matter. There were more important things to think about besides my rampant consumerism.

I headed back to the cockpit and took off from the Pirate Haven. Drifting about in space, I wondered where I could head to. If I had a galaxy map of some sort, I took a look at that to see where I could go.

In six seconds you're literally surrounded by Police frigates with their sirens on, with only a few small openings.

...You can't dilly-dally! What do you do?!

This ship must've come fitted with a giant glowing sign that reads "HE'S HERE GET HIM NOW GET HIM." Perhaps I should've taken a bit more time with getting acquainted with this ship. I didn't have enough weapons on this ship to handle these frigates. No way I could outrun them. Well, perhaps I stood a better chance fighting them on the ship, rather than with the ship. I switched off the ship's engine and lights in a feint surrender. The reward for me was more if I was taken alive. These fools would certainly try it. I waited in my seat, laser pistol in-hand, and waited to hear the sound of officers trying to board my ship.

Soon you could hear the pit-pat of officer feet coming up the ramp.

Your laser pistol does 15 max. damage. Their plasma rifles do 30 max.

What do you plan on doing, man?! DON'T RUIN THE VELVET CARPET!

it's so nice

They weren't getting to me. I didn't even have to see their faces to get rid of them. I scanned the controls in my cockpit for the door-controls. Once found, I sealed myself away in the cockpit and opened up all the airlocks in the other rooms in an attempt to siphon the officers out, or kill them from lack of oxygen.

(i'm not a dirty casual who needs hints)

Must've come with EVA suits as well to not be sucked out into the void of space. Well, they were in my ship and wouldn't be able to give chase with their own ships. Seeing that, I warped off to some random location, hoping that the warp would force them off my ship, or at least knock them down for some time.

Guts floated around space due to the fact that since the porthole wasn't closed, they got decapitated and minced and diced by the ship in motion.

Worked out as planned. Maybe not the part about the mess. Oh well, you can't really pollute the Universe itself, can you? Once I'd come out of warp, I looked at my galaxy map to see what was around.

Upon saying "Giri, show me the Galaxy Map," a hologram appears from your Holohub.

You are in the Aquarii galaxy. It is named this because literally every planet in this galaxy has an atmosphere comprised entirely of H20. Humans have colonized the entire galaxy, and it was considered a Human Owned Galaxy according to the Intergalactic International Interracial Meeting of 2089.

...You're not very welcome here, mind, and landing on any of the galaxy's planets would require proper Aqua Gear, as well as a disguise, as literally everyone will be on the lookout for you.

Maybe I should've taken a few seconds to look at the galaxy map instead of just warping somewhere at random. There's nothing for me to do here without any Aqua Gear. Perhaps there were a few space stations I could dock at, but I have no reason to do such a thing. What I needed now was a bit of cash. Well, I think I can figure out one way to get it.

I looked at my galaxy map for a nearby galaxy, one with planets I'm able to land on, and preferably with few police patrolling around.

The nearest galaxy that fits that description is 100000 lightyears away, the Demonica Cluster. It is run by the species known as the Daemon. They have no Union Police, however, but use the INTERGAPOL. They are less informed than the Union Police, and most Daemons won't recognize you there. It has 236 planets you can land on.
