Was wondering if any of you kind gentlemen/ladies are experienced with 2 dimensional collision detection using only java default libraries?
I've been trying at it for a few days now, and am slowly losing my mind.
Mainly been trying detecting what objects are near the player and then setting their gravity and xPos and all that crap accordingly.
Anyone have some wisdom to impart?

Try to understand the logic of this, not the Lua part of it.
Hopefully this will help you understand.

@Rocket
I've tried that one before, but the problem then occurred with gravity. It would constantly being moving down unless it intersected, and so it would constantly spasm barely in and out of the intersected rectangle.
@boss
I've looked up quite a lot, but have been unable to comprehend most of them whether my own fault or the writers.

I made an example of this once... I'm not certain how well it worked.

Feel free to look at the code in it. I haven't touched it since the day I made it- that was quit some time ago so I know the coding is terrible.
I tried to make everything happen on a micro scale, but quickly. |
