maybe i'm being boring but i'd argue Einstein purely because not only did he put together the general theory of relativity which is possibly one the most important aspects of modern physics ever, but he also helped document the photoelectric effect which laid down the path towards quantum mechanics, possibly ANOTHER of the most important aspects of modern physics
not many scientists can lay claim to being a pioneer of TWO branches of modern physics.
