You have to enter a ton of codes and stuff because you're literally setting up the OS yourself

"I think I'm fine with a pre-made OS" Most people are, but I want Arch Linux for a vast amount of reasons Privacy, insanely-fast speeds, full customization, and it's free (so I won't have to buy the newest version in a few years)

Oh wow, you're so cool because you have to enter a bunch of codes you read off of the internet!
It's sad that people are so insecure about themselves they refuse to use Linux distributions that are more functional like Ubuntu because they think it's "for babies". |

"Oh wow, you're so cool because you have to enter a bunch of codes you read off of the internet!" Did I ever say that I was "cool for entering codes"? No, I was explaining that it will be tedious in a sarcastic way by saying it's "gonna be fun".
"It's sad that people are so insecure about themselves they refuse to use Linux distributions that are more functional like Ubuntu because they think it's "for babies"." I don't like Ubuntu because it's a lot more restricted, I want a distro where I can have full control of everything

No you don't. You're just rationalizing it. You're never going to recompile the kernel. You're never going to rewrite any of the code.
You're just going to go through the basic setup and then use it like any old OS. |

"No you don't. You're just rationalizing it. You're never going to recompile the kernel. You're never going to rewrite any of the code." That's not what I mean by customization. By customization, I mean that you add only what you need and that's it. It's not flooded with extras like Ubuntu.
"You're just going to go through the basic setup and then use it like any old OS." Have you ever installed Arch before? It's not some click-and-go setup like Ubuntu.

| You don't have to use Ubuntu specifically. Why not Debian? |

There's a server version available for every Linux distro, including Ubuntu, you blithering buffoon.

"There's a server version available for every Linux distro, including Ubuntu, you blithering buffoon." I shouldn't have to resort to the server version just to get a great OS
"Proving my point even further." I've never seen some basic old "OS" have to be that complex at the setup. With Ubuntu, you just sit there and let it do all of the work. During the time spent setting up Arch, you can literally add whatever you want and remove whatever you don't want, so it's a completely personalized OS.

"okay i am not installing arch linux ever" If you don't know how to do the setup, chances are you're not experienced enough to run Arch. Arch isn't even made for general users. Usually distros like Ubuntu or Linux Mint are a lot more user-friendly.
