Before I state my plans, I will first state my history on Tradelands and experiences that qualify me as the Governor:
I started playing Tradelands in late May, just before factions were established. In mid-June, I was nominated as a Navy Officer by Governor Milbert23 as the official Navy was established, and served for approximately 2.5 months, and have stopped well over one hundred pirate invasions, earning me near every award possible for serving. I have ran for Governor on two separate occasions, the first I came in 2nd place and the second the election was canceled. I have been a merchant for a long time and am a shareholder in the game's largest company, Union Pacific. Outside of the game, I am proud to say that I help run a very large economics group called UCT, and am quite experienced in working with numbers.
Because of these experiences, let it be well known that I am an experienced individual as a leader, a politician, and an economist.
In my past campaigns, I have made it clear that I wish to make naval reforms, expand our economy, improve diplomatic relations, and to upgrade our infrastructure. Our governor Milbert23 has done very little in the past months to fix these, and I wish to make progress by fulfilling his unaccomplished promises and going beyond that. No promises can be kept, but I will accomplish what I can.
For our Navy, I wish to make reforms. Sure, we have been doing some reorganizing by removing inactive players, and sure, we have uniforms finally. But, there is more to be done. Our crewmen lack leadership, and our officers and admirals lack power. We need a system, or schedule perhaps, to make patrolling more organized. Secondly, our Navymen often trade rather than patrol because it is difficult to acquire funds solely from their combat bonus, so I believe that they should get a daily bonus so that they can focus more on their patrols. As an unintended benefit to these concepts, the patrols of the navy and the payments they receive will act as a beacon for naval expansion, and Verdantine will be a safer place.
For our economy, I wish to fulfill Milbert23's promise of a Jewelry Factory of silver on Perth, and further invest in future factories afterward. I will make efforts to establish new trade agreements with Whitecrest, and if not, I will seek out to Inyola for an agreement. I wish to decrease the domestic goods taxes for Verdantium slightly for the benefit of our traders. Using our surplus, I wish to upgrade the infrastructure of Verdantium by building bigger docks, by making some upgrades to Perth (possibly a battery), and if the weather and time updates come, by building a lighthouse. This will make our sovereignty an attractive nation, and once again, act as a beacon, but for immigration.
For our diplomatic relations, we shall forgive all nations of their past actions against us, but we shall never forget. We will make friends with all nations, but we will not form alliances. We will, as Theodore Roosevelt says, "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." In other words, we will be neutral, we will be friendly to others if they are friendly to us, and keep our military as a "reserve." This mindset I believe is key to prosperity in the Tradelands.
In conclusion, if you wish for an experienced manager of our nation who will make all efforts to make our nation a beacon and a great influence for prosperity in the Tradelands, you should vote for me. Once again, I make no promises, but I make plans. If we wish to fulfill these plans, we must act. |
