Hello! This is a guide for the various ranks, and their responsibilities within the Grand Empire of Russia. Whether you are a new recruit, or a veteran, this guide is sure to help clarify whatever questions you may have.
First and foremost, there are 3 main parts in the ranks of the Grand Russian Army. The Enlisted (Private-Sergeant), the Officers and Officer cadets (Feldwebel-Polkovnik), and the High Command (Brigadier-Generalissimo). Each has a distinct duty. We will cover that first.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enlisted: The bulk of our army. These brave men and women risk their lives in combat for the betterment of the Russian Empire. You may not be recognized for your deeds as a foot soldier, but through heroic deeds and valiant actions, there is plenty of glory to be had.
Private - You must purchase a uniform and attend a training. Now, it is NOT an automatic promotion. You must perform sufficiently, and to the trainer's standard.
Corporal - Those who perform sufficiently in events and use grammar may hope to achieve this rank.
Farrier - A specialist. You've stood out among your peers, and may be selected to perform special duties according to your skill.
Junior Sergeant - Those who show leadership qualities, and skill will be granted the position on a Junior Sergeant. You may lead small squads of men on marches, and perform drills.
Sergeant - The most senior Enlisted rank. You are responsible for the discipline of your subordinates, and for some of their training. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Officer cadets/Officers: The few men who dare to charge straight into combat. Those who inspire those beside them. Only those who've shown outstanding qualities may ever hope to achieve such a position. You are the leaders of our forces. You win our battles. You gain all the glory from your hard work.
Feldwebel - You are an officer candidate. You will not be granted permission to lead just yet, as you will have to learn the responsibility of an officer, and the logistics of combat. By observing senior officers, and performing to the best of your ability you will gain a full commission soon.
Sub-Leytenant - You have passed the trials of an officer candidate, and became an officer cadet. You are allowed to order the enlisted soldiers, and on rare occasion lead men into battle.
Leytenant - You are now a commissioned officer in the Grand Army of Russia. Wear your uniform with pride. You are allowed to host trainings under the supervision of senior officers, and lead men into the glorious battles!
Kapitan - You have shown exceptional skill and bravery on the battlefield. You are now a a captain. You may lead large parties into the heat of battle, and host trainings without supervision.
Major - As a senior officer, you are granted a say in the planning of battle, and usually receive a large force to command. You must host trainings at least once a week.
Podpolkovnik - You are an experienced and battle-hardened officer. You are no longer required to host training, but encouraged to do so. You know how to lead, how to hit hard, and how to win with minimal losses.
Polkovnik - The most senior officers in the Grand Russian Army. Few will reach this rank, and even fewer will go on beyond. You are responsible for planning battles, and giving out orders. You should begin mentoring officers from time to time. You will nurture our next generation of officers into fierce warriors not afraid to lay down their own lives. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- High Command: Very, very few individuals can dream of holding such a position. You have served for a very long time. A veteran of wars. Men and women who will give the responsibility of fighting battles to the colonels, and will instead focus more on the bigger picture. They are tasked with giving counsel to the Tsar himself. They are responsible for watching the officers, and promoting those who've distinguished themselves. Every general has his own job to do, and they will do it well.
Brigadier - The first rung of the High Command ladder. You will be given administrative duties that the higher ups determine are best suited for you. Rarely, you will command armies into battle, most of the time, you will have a desk job.
Major General - You have went above and beyond your call of duty. You worked hard, and received the rank appropriate to your actions. You will take part in important meetings that change the way the entire Empire is run.
Lieutenant General - The most senior generals. They have served the Empire to the utmost of their ability. Always facing the challenges head on, and never wavering. They hold much sway in the Empire, and should be treated with the utmost respect.
General-Field Marshal - Only one will serve as the head of the Imperial forces. His word is absolute. Only the Tsar and the Generalissimo may overrule him. He manages the entire army, along with his trusted generals. His everyday duties involve sifting through tons of documents, and he does it with pride.
Generalissimo - Rarely was such a position given out. Only a couple have had enough successes and victories in order to qualify for such a position. They hold the highest military honor awards, and may step in and overrule the General-Field Marshal if they see a need to. They could almost be considered the Tsar's direct family. There is no one who is more patriotic for his country, and who is willing to do anything for the prosperity of the Grand Russian Empire.
Signed by Polkovnik Alexius of the Russian Army, awaiting approval from the High Command of the Imperial forces. |
