MPD newsletter 9/4/15 MPD HiCom
The following will be a list of items, explanation, rules, and expectations we have in MPD. Most of you know alot of these, but this will clear up a lot of questions/confusions in the department.
1. Bank 2. Patrolling 3. Cadets 4. Discipline/Rules 5. Trainings/Promotions 6. Tryouts
Bank As most of you know the bank is a hotspot for crime, and every agency hangs out at the bank. As of 9/4/15 NO camping should be done at the bank. This includes, but is not limited to; -Standing in, and around the bank -Parking at, or near the bank -Socializing (anywhere, you have a job to do, do it) -Entering the parking garage to watch the bank -Getting on nearby buildings to watch the bank.
The only exceptions that would allow you to camp at the bank, and anywhere really is if one of the following were occurring; -Backup requested -Robbery, and/or other crime -While patrolling (Meaning you are in your car, driving around) -A HR is with you at the time -Known threats are at/near the bank
Reasons for this rule are very self explanatory. Below include, but again is not limited to; -There is a whole LV/DC to patrol (Crime happens everywhere) -The bank is a distraction. You are more prone to socialize, then work -You’re not doing your job if your at the bank. Join BoA if you want to protect it.
Any violation of the rule can result in punishment.
Patrolling
The definition of patrol is; keep watch over (an area) by regularly walking or traveling around or through it. In MPD we have a primary task as law enforcement to keep the streets on which we are patrolling safe, and secure. In order to do this you must travel throughout the ENTIRE city, instead of camping at one place each time. This not only adds realism, but allows you to do your job more efficiently. In DC, and LV there are several different hotspots, most of which are spread out. These include; -Bank (DC/LV) -Lockpicks (LV) -VS (DC/LV0 -White house (DC) -BBB (LV) -Gun dealers (LV/DC) -Houses (LV0 Those are just some of the well known hotspots you should try to travel through along your patrol route. You are not suppose to camp, stay, nor watch any area for long periods of time, but instead try going through each looking for crime to occur. Any help, or questions you have regarding how you should patrol can be sent to any HR at any time.
Cadets
Until otherwise posted, cadets CAN patrol alone. The rule to have them patrol with another officer was thrown out until further notice. Cadets still need to be in the cadet uniform, and the cadet uniform only. Other than that cadets are to follow the same rules as all other officers. They will be held to the same standards as other officers, because if you can’t pass as cadets you will not be in this force long.
Discipline/Rules
Recently we’ve had a few problems in MPD with respect, following orders, working, activity, etc. Most if not all of this will be coming to an end, or your career within the force will come to an end. HiCome reserves every right to fire, suspend, and demote you for any of the following reasons. -Disrespect -Failing to do job properly -Inactivity -Failure to follow orders -Arguing with other members of MPD -Disgracing MPD name
(These are a few of the most common issues I’ve seen, but this does not list all. Any rule, regulation, policy, misconduct, etc. that is broken can result in punishment.) MPD will be cracking down on each, and every rule to insure we get are department where it needs to be. Showing respect, being active, and doing our job right are among top concerns.
Training/Promotions To start off with, the only way to get promotions are noticeably being active, attending trainings/Mass patrols, or other noticeable reason in which HiCom would promote you. Asking for promotions is not, and will not be tolerated. Trainings are the best way to get promoted. Most members try to give a notice before hosting a training. Begging for trainings will be ignored, as we have to host when we have time, but will still host regularly. At anytime there is a mandatory training there is no exception on why you are not there, but online. You will be fired immediately for violating this rule. All other trainings you will be expected to attend, and if you are caught complaining about their being no trainings when you were online with on going on you will be punished. This is your chance to get better, and promoted.
Tryouts
A new rule also being implemented will be for tryouts. Currently many of you show up, and most of the time just get in the way. We have no problem with you coming, but you must come to help. Answering PTS, insuring people are STS, silent, controlling them, and other things asked by the host are your responsibilities. You don’t need to be modded (Given admin) to do this. You spawn with a gun, and a tazer. You can always type. You shouldn’t be having a 1v1 where people spawn, or trying to lead it. You’re their to help, so help. We have to show maturity, and respect of MPD. Anytime you go to another tryout their agents are always STS’d on the side, or up top helping. We now expect the same.
Hopefully this clears up a few things about MPD, and our standards. Any questions can be sent to an HR for a response within 72 hours. You can also comment below, this goes into effect today (09/05/2015)
