It has since it's inception. Unless you mine your own silicone and build a computer from scratch, the NSA can probably look at your history.

"bandwagons" No, I don't bandwagon. I was always a lover of Windows, up until the kind of stuff I'm starting to see on it now.. Definitely switching to Linux now. |

"Definitely switching to Linux now."
Is it one that's endorsed by the FSF, or not?

"so basically your switching to windows because of heartstrings?" Switching to Linux because I read the Terms and Conditions of W10. It pretty much says that they can access any file on your computer if they please. You think that it's completely fine to be watched 24/7? May I also note that they share your info to others?
"and why would you be worried? its not like they'll do anything with it" I'm not worried about Microsoft taking my data. They won't do anything with it, BUT, the fact that they implement the whole system itself is malicious. I'll put this example into proportion — just imagine a building that sends its data to another building. The fact that the data moving system exists means that it can be exploited and can be tapped into, which means that the data being sent to Microsoft may also be sent to hackers via their completely insecure data-transfer system (albeit being a billionare company, think about that). See where I'm going here? |

"Linux is going downhill." Where are you getting this information from, FOX News? It's been around for a long time and it's more diverse, secure and private than Windows. |

“It has since it's inception. Unless you mine your own silicone and build a computer from scratch, the NSA can probably look at your history.”
The NSA can not spy on Linux if properly implemented
“so basically your switching to windows because of heartstrings?”
he's moving from windows
“the nsa is there for a reason, to make sure your not doing anything illegal.”
The NSA isn't there for a reason. They are breaking the law by circumventing constitutional rights to privacy in the interest of “national security”
“and why would you be worried? its not like they'll do anything with it”
As one of my professors once said, if a government were to turn bad in our time as governments have done before, we are boned.
“Are you seriously telling me that they integrate backdoors into your BIOS? Don't be silly.”
Some BIOS can have tracking information. That is why you use an approved one or a free one
“Switch to Apple OS. Linux is going downhill.”
OS X is Unix based, they're practically the same thing |

"im pretty sure theres still plenty of surveillance "
Only through your ISP and data you access, not right on your computer with the NSA backdoor
Except here you can easily use a VPN to circumvent ISP tracking and try to make sure all of your data only belongs to you |
