I"ve been trying to get anyone to reply, but no one is. So, I wanted to animate this tool that I made (it has multiple parts), but when I tried putting the tool into the dummy's model to animate it, the tool wouldn't attach. First I tested to see if either the tool or the animation plugin had a problem. So I got a classic sword model and attached it to the dummy model. But when I did that, it actually attached and when I clicked on the dummy to animate, it let me animate the sword too. So I looked up about what to do, and I made one of the blocks a handle. THEN i attached all the blocks along with the one named "Handle" to the dummy. The handle block went into place, but all the other blocks of the tool were still in the same place. AND, when I tried to take the handle off, it moved a few spaces away, and I couldn't undo it back to where it should be on the tool, so I had to restart Roblox Studio. Someone HELP ME. I have no clue what to do, and I really need to be able to animate this tool. I'm guessing the fact that there's multiple parts has something to do with this problem, but I'm stuck. I would be so glad if you helped me. |

Yes, about that. I installed the weld plugin and clicked the button to weld, and it wouldn't work no matter how hard I tried. AND, I checked a ton of welding scripts on my tool and it wouldn't work no matter what I tried .__.

Am I supposed to put something in the "Linked Source" on the Weld Properties? Because the weld didn't work .__.

Well maybe it may have not worked if you have unions since most old weld scripts don't support unions also the second point is that when animating a weapon it has to be welded to the player's hand.i.e.It should have another weld which welds the handle of the weapons to the player's hand.

I would try a weld script (Crazyman32's Auto Weld takes Anchored parts in the model, welds them, Unanchors them, then removes itself) in the model of the tool. If you press F6 in Studio the model will be welded, then while in test mode you can publish the already welded model to ROBLOX.

But if I just attach a classic sword tool to the dummy it works without adding any weld script. Also, I can't weld without unioning anything because I used negative parts on the model.

The classic sword is just a mesh in 1 part, so it doesn't need to be welded.
