| I noticed recently that if you save ROBLOX onto a flash drive and then try to run it on another computer, it will first attempt to download ROBLOX onto the machine. I think ROBLOX should make a portable version of Studio which does not require being on the machine. This will help players have the ability to build and script more easily and not have to worry about putting the software on a non-native machine. |

| Why can't you just put studio on the flash drive...? |

| King, you can. However, attempting to run it from the flash drive will attempt to install it automatically onto the computer. |

Players may want to build on a computer with which they do not have permission to download or install programs. For instance, they may have a basic user account on a parent's laptop and get to use it while at vacation. Other places this may apply are: - A library - A school computer (lunch time?)
Having a portable version of Studio lets them take it with them and not have to download it onto any computers that either parents/administrators wouldn't want to have things downloaded on. |

| Support now that you gave the examples. I also think that if they made a special USB port with it that costs money. That'd be a benefit for us and for roblox! |

Then you shouldn't be playing that on those computers/networks anyway. The reason they have those rules is to prevent external applications from sneaking in and adding a virus or things like that. |

Found a slightly outdated version that clames to be portable, downloading it right now.
https://github.com/Vitouliss/ROBLOX-Portable
It appears to be easily updatable to the latest version, I will see what I can do. |

| Update: It seems to work, although, as I said, it's an older version, which means that some newer games will crash it and that the toolbox is broken. I will work on updating it as soon as I can. |

(I know this is a old thread, but it's relevant now.) Don't really think it would work, I mean mobile devices are limited and doesn't have as much buttons as a keyboard does. So unless it's like a lite version, it wouldn't work.
Give me a sec, I'm thirsty. SSSLLLUUURRRPPP! Okay, now to post again. |

| zsoltisawesome, I just downloaded your version and the roblox studio works great. Still can't get the player to work even when following your instructions. Also, do you know how this portable version of roblox can exist even though roblox studio appears to be copyrighted. Because your link has been on the forum for awhile and the moderators have not decided to take it down, I assume that the licenses somehow allow it. |

I'm not really sure either, however it seems to be fine. I think it might be because I am just providing it as it is, sans modifications, just assembled in a way that it knows that it's supposed to be portable. Also, I haven't had much time to update it recently, because I have to manually update it, so this version doesn't have the new color palette. However, I will start updating it again quite soon, hopefully sometime this week. ~kyu |

I have been able to use Roblox Studio on a school computer but there wasn't much to do since most of Roblox Studio required internet access.

You could very easily make your own portable version of the latest version of ROBLOX.
However I fully support the idea that ROBLOX should have a portable executable download option as well.
