DISCLAIMER: This guide is for people who are inexperienced/beginners at Apocalypse Rising and just want to learn how to play better. This guide is totally useless for experienced players. It does not go in-depth about what gun is the best or making bases.
So you've probably seen Apocalypse Rising. The game that's been hanging around the front page recently? Yeah. I'm sure there's lots of players out there who keep getting killed. "Why am I bad?" they might say. Well, I'm here to help. ==Table of Contents== 1. Before Spawning 2. Perks 3. Getting Started 4. Cities/Towns and Loot 5. Zombies 6. Other Players and Groups 7. Vehicles 8. Valuable Items 9. A few Tips and Tricks 10. Playstyles 11. Dying
-Before Spawning- Before you spawn, you can customise your character. I prefer dark clothing because you blend in with the night better. Dark Green/Black is best. You can choose a spawn direction and additional things when you spawn such as a map/compass or better supplies.
-Perks(In no particular order)- Cardio- Makes you run faster and your stamina regenerates faster. Can be a good perk for bandits, or players who like to get around quickly. Survivalist- My perk of choice. This makes your hunger and thirst go down slower, giving you five extra minutes before your hunger/thirst goes down. Useful for normal players, not very important for bandits because they get plenty of loot from their victims. Ninja- Makes your steps silent, and your jumps mostly silent. IMO the best perk for bandits because you can sneak up on people or walk around without anyone being aware of your presence. Vitality-Makes your health regenerate. It takes ten minutes to go from 1 health to full. Helpful if you get attacked by zombies and don't want to waste a blood bag. Its alright for bandits, but the other perks are probably more helpful.
-Getting Started- You will spawn in a certain direction on the edge of the map (you can choose if you use a credit). You have a makarov, 2 mags, a can of beans and a pepsi (unless you have Extra Provisions). You should get moving quickly to look for supplies. Eventually you should come to a town. You should find some loot there. If not, move to another town.
-Cities, Towns and Loot- Once you find a city, search all the houses for loot. There should be at least SOMETHING there. If not, move on. (note that in reborn you cannot open doors so you cant check every house). The barricades at the towns can spawn military loot (i've found military packs and military guns there). Some towns have military tents. Medical Military Tents can spawn blood bags, painkillers, or supplies. Military Tents can spawn military weapons. Usually houses 'house' civilian loot. Some food items are better than others, restoring more hunger, thirst or health. Some cities are more visited by players, such as Kin, Vernal, The Radio Tower, or the Forest. You can make bases if you have an Entrencher. It's best to make a base in places that spawn lots of loot, and some military loot. Block all the windows and entrances, and that's pretty much it. Only people who have an Entrencher can take down your base. You will find materials around the map, such as lumber or blocks.
-Zombies- Zombies are the most common enemy in the game. Runners and Crawlers (I'm calling them that, deal with it) are what you can find. Note that in Reborn there are only the previous basic zombies. Zombies take 20% of your health when they damage you. They will chase vehicles from long distances. If one chases you, it won't stop chasing you until you get far away from it. So, if a zombie is far from a town, it likely chased someone there. They can only spawn in a town/near buildings. Places like Kin are riddled with them. One headshot with any gun will kill them.
-Other Players- Players are the other enemy in the game. They are much more dangerous than zombies because they are much smarter and have weapons that can likely kill you in seconds. I'd say about 90% of the players you see will shoot you on sight. You can either choose to run, hide, or fight back. Fighting back isn't an option unless you have a good weapon. Bandits very often have good automatic weapons. Hiding won't always work unless you can hide somewhere that they don't know where you went. Hiding in a house ten feet in front of them isn't gonna cut it. Running is the most dangerous option, but is likely your best bet. It's easier if you have a vehicle. Killing another player will get you their loot, but remember that other players can see how many players you've killed.
-Groups- You can group up with other players. It's a good idea to only team with people you know. If you team with people you don't know, they might backstab you when you least expect it. You don't know if someone is leaving your group until they already have. You won't know you're being kicked until they've already kicked you. It doesn't have to be real life friends. So thats good for the forever aloners. It can be a ROBLOX friend. Just make sure you trust each other and you've been friends long enough to not backstab each other. You cannot hurt, kill, or otherwise damage people in your team. In teams, 3-4 is the magic numbers. 2 people can team, but it isn't good for holding bases unless you have really good weapons. 3-4 people is perfect for holding a base, but be sure to have lots of food and water. You have lots of mouths to feed. More than 4 people is outright crazy. There is too many people to keep alive. You are sure to have supply crises and there might be rebellions.
-Vehicles- You may find vehicles around the map. They spawn mostly broken, requiring car parts that you can find around the map. Bicycles are the easiest to repair, only requiring 1-2 scrap metal, which is fairly common. Repairing a vehicle is very time consuming, as it requires wheels, engine parts, fuel tank parts, a jerry can, etc. You will often have to walk around quite a bit to find those, and by then your vehicle might be already taken! Vehicles can break if you crash or if someone shoots at it. Make sure you don't run over any mines or your vehicle will explode, also killing you. Some vehicles are better than others, but they all go faster than a player sprinting (if they are fully repaired). For example, military jeeps go very fast, but can only spawn in military areas. (If you have stats on what vehicles are better, PM me!)
-Valuable Items- There are a few items that are very helpful or important that will greatly assist you in your journey. Mainly its a backpack and a map. If you have a map, a compass and a GPS will help tremendously. You can spawn with those with Advanced Navigation. An Entrencher is useful (necessary) if you want a base. Obviously you need food and water. Matches can be used to light firewood, to cook meat. Animals can spawn anywhere as long as it's away from a city/town. You can use a Watch to tell the time. The sun sets around 18:00 and rises around 3:00. (If I missed anything, let me know!)
-Tips and tricks- 1. Don't carry more than 4 of each food and drink. 2. If you see a player, you can run, hide, or attack. Only attack if your weapons are good. 3. Other players can see how many people you have killed. 4. Being a bandit makes other players want to kill you more. 5. If you are a bandit, it's best to have a powerful automatic weapon, or a sniper if you like to keep your distance. 6. If you get attacked, zigzagging and bunnyhopping will throw off their aim. Be careful, it can throw off yours too! 7. If you want to save ammo, avoid zombies entirely. If you encounter them, one bullet to the head is enough. 8. Only eat and drink when your bars are in the red. 9. If your hunger and thirst bars empty, you don't instantly die. You steadily take damage until you die, unless you eat or drink something. 10. It isn't safer to travel at night or day. There will be people wandering all the time. 11. MRE's and Cooked Meat are the best food in the game. Water bottles are the best water item in the game. 12. Don't die. (Have a tip to add? PM me and I'll add it in the next version, giving you credit. How often new versions come out depends on how many things I got wrong or needs to be changed.)
-Playstyles- #'s 1 and 2 are bandit subcategories. Note that bandits are sometimes going for the badges. 1. Shoot on Sight Survivalist. These players are bandits that shoot on sight, but for loot. They want the best gun in the server, or ammo for said gun. They're more likely to target you if you have good weapons, or if they need food/water. 2. Player Killer. These players kill just for the pleasure of killing. They have plenty of supplies, but they want to make sure that they take yours, too. These players are widely disliked by lower people. 3. Survivalist. These players try to avoid other people. Although, they may kill if they feel threatened or need supplies. They usually do not shoot on sight. They tend to give other players a chance, see if they attack or not. I personally am this. 4. Passive. These players avoid others at all costs. They won't kill even if they need supplies. They live off the environment, and will seriously only attack when they are being attacked from 10 feet away. Note that these players are extremely rare.
-Dying- Eventually everyone will die. Whether it's from another player, zombies (btw if you die from a zombie, no offense but that's embarrassing), or hunger/thirst, it'll happen. When this happens, your corpse lies on the ground for a couple minutes for people to loot. You will be sent back to the character creator. Remember not to rage. Thus starts the cycle again.
Thanks for reading my guide. Or if you didn't, well thanks for the view. If you want to add something, or I got anything wrong, PM me and I will add it in the next version. I'm sure I got a few things wrong, so your help is appreciated. You will always get credit if I add something you mentioned. Thanks! |

| I was just reminded by gamedude805 that I forgot Melee weapons. Those will be included in the next update. However, Hatchet is the best imo. |
