Your head aches; it is a simple statement, but true. There is a dull pounding spread across your foreheading, while the base between head and neck feels as if someone has drove in a wedge. Pain shoots from there, and if you were to reach back you would feel the stickiness of drying blood.

Can you focus on anything else?

...

...

No, you cannot. Your vision is spinning, and even the slight movement of your body from breathing risks sending you into a fit of nausea and dizziness. Hell, the motions of the blur before you are disorientating enough!

...

...

Do you remember what the blur is?

...

...

No, you do not appear to. Search a bit farther in your memory.

...

...

No, not yet! Damn it, you will hurt yourself! LAY BACK.

Relax. When the spinning abates you can look around, but for now, you need to rest.

It's hard to do anything with a headache, especially one as bad as this one. She couldn't even focus on where she was currently, her surroundings around her. Though, why would she want to put the effort into doing so? She was exhausted and tired, and her wouldbe efforts of trying to figure out more of /this/ wouldn't even get anywhere. So, she'll lay down, close her own eyes, and she'll try not to think about anything.

Not thinking is easier said than done, eh? Your attempt to relax your eyes is for nigh: as soon as they close, a high pitched voice needles its way into your ear. It causes your eyes to ache even more, and your brain to pound.

Still, if you were to focus you could decipher the words. They seem to be on repeat.

On the other hand, you could focus on the formation of a thought just a mental step away. You vaguely sensed that it could be important.

The result of all this sudden loudness in my brain had brought out a cry from her mouth, or maybe not, if she couldn't speak currently. She wanted nothing more than to just rid this noise from her poor head, and she wasn't sure how to do it. It seemed no matter what she did, she would always be filled with uncomfort. What was it even trying to tell her anyways? She tried to pick out the words, struggling to even stand it continuing with repetition.

"Do you want a sedative, little girl?"

Do you?

Yes! Of course! Anything to stop this noise, this pain, anything!

It was an answer she would have to stutter out weakly.

You stutter out the word yes in the most excited tone you can muster, but you cannot continue the phrase. Your voice cracks and then appears to stop working. Your throat now aches.

You feel a pinch in your neck, and for a too long moment, the pain centers at the needle point, and increases. A few seconds later, you begin to drift into unconsciousness

You are in a dream state, and although weakened, you are lucid.

Memories and thoughts flow through your mind, dancing and spiraling as if wishing for your attention. The pain is just a muffled memory at the moment.

Of course, she has reached what she wanted. Rest. As she is now asleep, no longer awake, the voice silent, she feels a lot better, and she feels she could now do something now. She reaches over to something, something somewhere the age of six. Anything she could grab onto would be welcoming.

(( Perfect. The age where we determine your powers. ))

It seems you do not remember much about when you were six, because it was anything but pleasant. The focus on the memory could be a welcome distraction, but if you were to force yourself into it, you are not sure if it would remain welcoming.

Even at age six, life was not easy.

Lilia knew that, but still, it was something to do. She felt it was something she needed to do, to pick out something, really, anything within the soup of her mind. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to, though, but...

Alright, have it your way.

---
[[ Note, this is a scenario where you are given the option for powers. You will be asked if you did something with them, and if you say no, you will get more scenarios. If you say yes, you will also get more options, just different forms. If you keep saying no, you will be dismissed as defective, but you will choose your own set of powers. ]]

There is a fire in your home. You can hear the crackling of flame, and the cracking of weakening wooden beams. Smoke drifts from the living area below, and gathers in your loft. Even though you lay low on the ground on your mattress, the smoke easily makes it way into your lungs. Your throat scratches and your eyes water.

What do you do?

As a young child, you feel like a reasonable option is to call for some help, but even so, you do not know who to call out for. At the same time, adrenaline is pumping through your small body.

An obvious choice to her is to immediately get out of there! She needed to look around for an exit and go to there, trying to hold her breath as much as she could to avoid breathing anymore of the smoke, and rush to the nearest door out of the apartment, hopefully being able to escape.

((Welp.))

[[Memory Update:
If you had chosen the first option, you would have delved into psychic powers.
Moving on.]]

You are fortunate that you are so small, as the smoke primarily flows above you. Still, you are soon forced to crawl, and your breathing has grown shallow. You cough, but continue to move forward.

Your small hands can feel the edge of something-- it appears to be the beginning of a stair. If that is so, you know it would take you from your loft to the living area below. There, you may be able to find an exit.

Well, okay.

She felt thankful that the edge of the starting step downstairs were there. Lilia decided to climb, or perhaps crawl, down. It was getting even harder to breath in here, with the amount of smoke, so any chance of an exit would be taken.

[[Memory Update: Three power options from here. ]]

Unfortunately for you, you had only recently moved into your home, and often forgot that the loft you roomed on was connected to the floor beneath not by a staircase, but by a ladder. While it was by no means far from the ground, the space between loft and ground was damaging for one your size.

The air was pushed harshly from your lungs, and you are forced to taken in shallow breaths of air and smoke. Once again, you are left in a fit of coughing.

You are not sure, but there is a blossoming pain in your arms. They could be broken.

If you can gain enough energy and air, you should be able to forge your way to the exit. There is also the chance that you simply scraped your limbs, and your young mind tells you that you can 'fix' them.

Finally, you could simply scream for help.

Lilia, as soon as her body impacted on the ground, she cried in pain. She coughed out the smoke, only to breath back more smoke, her lungs felt even more heavier and irritated, and her arm, what was wrong with her arm? It hurt, and it hurt badly, but she couldn't afford to stop her escape right now just because of a little surface wound. A surface wound, that was all it was, and even if it might have felt more than that, it didn't matter. Absolutely, it was nothing to her, the area would simply scab up, and she be perfectly fine... right?

She needed to look for the nearest door around the room, but wasn't sure if she could with all the smoke in her way. But she was close, closer than she was before. She just needed to keep forward.

(( Pain. Is. Fun. ))

[[Memory Update: You gained a unique power set.
Classification: Projection
Sub-set: Undetermined]]

You are determined to live, and refuse to give up; that is impressive for such a young girl.

Your push yourself upward despite the agony of your arms. You are near positive that they will snap, but with each shallow breath you take in, the pain fades. They do not break in half like your mind says they will; instead, it feels as if some sort of substance keeps them knitted together. There is still pain, but even that fades as the substance appears to cushion your nerves.

You take in another breath, this one deeper than before. Only a small amount of smoke enters your lungs. You are not completely sure, but the air around you seems to be a tad clearer. The smoke stops just a foot away from you, and through it you can see a broken down door.

Goodness, this feeling is... odd. Suddenly, she could breath easily now? Her arms weren't broken, and while they did hurt, and they still sort of hurt a lot, she could move them. She stood up, gasping a little within this air, this slightly clearer than before air.

There was an exit right in front of her, and she thanked something, whoever gave her this, for the chance of survival. She walked, rather, rushed to the broken door, the exit.

In a more dramatic story, your old home would collapse as you took a step out the door. You would collapse with it, crying. However, you are six years old, and you hardly understand that level of drama!

Instead, you run as far away from the burning building as possible. You cannot see far, as the light of the fire hardly carries through the night. It is dark, and you do not know what to do.

(( I mean, they technically are broken. ))

Lilia stops, and looks back over at the burning building that was once her home, a place she had lived in. Now that she was out of immediate danger, now what? Where would she go after this?

Lilia was lost. And now, she was homeless. She sat down on the ground, to take a little break, and took a few breaths from the fresh air around her, knowing the smoke wouldn't travel to where she was.

(( See, my favorite part of this is that it is just like a six year old was living alone. No one else there. In a big big house all alone. When, obviously, that didn't happen. ))

Life has the rather unfortunate tendency to get worse before it get's better; at six years old, you do not understand this. The world around you, however, does not care.

As you collapse onto the ground, you find that your break may just turn into far more than that. The pain in your arm returns, and it feels as if they have snapped in two. The air is clear, but the agony causes your breath to come out ragged.

Lilia cringes violently, nearly crying out of pain. The pain on her arm wasn't exactly a scrap, but instead, it has appeared that it was a severe fracture. She tried to adjust it back together, so it appears more normal, but even moving the arm a little was pure agony to her. What happened before then? It didn't seem that bad before, then why is it happening right now? Her little body was filled with pain, and she found it hard to move, and hard to find the least painful position for her.
