I've been here for a month (I can speak Greek and am Greek but was raised in the UK) and I have to tell you... The way these social groups work feels like survival of the fittest
Either you interrupt a conversation and assert your ideas in a cool way, either dominating or contributing
or you sit down and say nothing, letting them speak about 20 different topics within a timespan of 30 seconds, eventually making their way to a topic of how awkward you are acting by not taking part
if you don't interrupt loudly enough or you interrupt when the 'main guy' is talking, they will treat you like an idiot |

Also there are some signals which girls can use to hint they want to sleep with you
If they ever flutter their eyes at you, it's almost certain they want to... |

| And if you join any social group, you need to immediately become close friends with every member (even if there's 10-15 of them) and greet them EVERYWHERE you go else you'll be seen as a weirdo |

bro
I have no problem, it's just alien to the lifestyle I have in the UK, where conversations are slow paced and you befriend who you know, not any mutual friends
also, if you add someone on Facebook and don't like their pics, they will personally grudge you
that's why every Greek person has like 200 likes on their pics |

| Greek culture is a very tightly weld bond. Reminds me of some Hispanic cultures. |

Greeks from different states literally INSULT the hell out of others
The Athenian Greeks consider the Pontic Greeks (Anatolian) as rednecks, northerners as dumbasses who can't pronounce lambdas properly without making it seem like they're about to vomit, islanders and euboeans as brothers (apart from the villagers who are also rednecks), Cretans as just plain weird, peleponnessians as hype Greeks |

corinth was cool which was why i led it for a short time
i've been watching roman documentaries (nerd) so i'm moving onto ancient greece soon
did you know a roman emperor prayed to the gods to help him against a siege assault on his fort, and lightning scared away the germanic tribes?

i would rather live in a mud shack in a dark cold forest fighting off irish raiders and vikings than lather my body in fish oils and stick olives up my butt
