Here's all the -punk genres that came up with I googled it;
Cyberpunk. Steampunk. Dieselpunk. Biopunk. Bugpunk. Transistorpunk. Nanopunk. Decopunk. Atompunk. Teslapunk. Clockpunk. Splatterpunk. Mythpunk.
- - - - - - ( below is the list of 'ridiculous' genres ) Spacepunk. Cattlepunk. Stonepunk. Mannerspunk. Oceanpunk. Elfpunk. Nowpunk. Dungeonpunk. Lobsterpunk.
...
My vote is obviesly Lobterpunk.
I kid, I kid. If you were to do one, I would vote Teslapunk.

i mean. im thinking of like--
one of those alternate punks that is vaguely cyberpunk, and in the time where it becomes popular.
probably will have dragons and fairy tale creatures and horror creatures bc victorian people were stupid sometimes |

then do it in an AU that isnt historical but also isnt technologically developed old-fashioned AUs are fine, but Ks3 history ruined actual historical settings for me

Ah, Pawz, I missed your list.
I am currently tempted to either focus on Teslapunk or clockpunk
the issue is, there isnt much info on teslapunk so?
____________________________________________ Teslapunk
Teslapunk, named after scientist and inventor, Nikola Tesla, refers to literature, philosophy and aesthetics inspired by Tesla and other pioneers of electricity and electrical devices. This subgenre imagines an alternate history wherein an Age of Electricity replaces Steampunk’s Age of Steam.
The Prestige is a Teslapunk movie. In fact, Nikola Tesla plays a prominent role in the film. ____________________________________________
I kind of need a basis to describe the world? And other than Warehouse 13 technology, which is modern, there isn't much?
I mean, I could move it to modern based things and do Telsapunk and one of those weird alchemypunk bc for some reason that existts kind of??? but like, i dont want to.
but then you alsso got this

but then you got this gem
____________________________________________ Clockpunk
Clockpunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction which is similar to steampunk, in that it portrays advanced technology based on pre-modern designs, but the technology used is based on springs, clockwork and advances inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. Clockpunk is usually set during the Renaissance, in the vein of Jay Lake’s novel, Mainspring, and Whitechapel Gods by S M Peters, as well as Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series and Pasquale’s Angel by Paul J. McAuley. A wonderful puppet-play – Avanti, Da Vinci! Or The Secret Adventures of Leonardo da Vinci, created by Jon Ludwig and Jason Hines and played in 2004 at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA – is a great example of Clockpunk (yep, my city is awesome!). The term “Clockpunk” was coined by the GURPS role playing system. ____________________________________________
or this ____________________________________________ Clockpunk - concerned with clockwork mechanisms, likes to live in the renaissance period;
Teslapunk - alternate history where we got stuck at electricity, never going so far as to try anything else, and got really good at it (traces family line back to 18th, 19th and early 20th century imaginings of what electricity would do) ____________________________________________
but tesla wasnt really active in early 19th. HE AWSNT BORN THEN
but he was in the late late nineteenth, which is basically the 20th century in aspects of RP by then. >_> And I still want victorian / romantic culture bc that is commonly where the gothic element stems from
this is why i dont really make progress making rps

| Well, if you want more fantasy/mythological creatures, I think clockpunk may be what you're looking for (it just seems to fit better). And remember: Gothic is an attitude, a style, it can emerge under any name you give it at any point in history. |
