Having a tough time choosing between these two brands, they have good processors but I'm not too sure which one to decide in my build.
So here's my two choices:
-Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core 295.95 CAD$ -AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz Octa-Core 289,99 CAD$
What I do:
- Gaming (mostly + priority #1) - Video editing - 3D editing
Might be a dumb comparison, but let me know what you guys think. |

9590 is terrible, needs a top of the line mobo, liquid cooling, etc. underpowered mobo will be xploded. 220+W drawn from 9590 will fry any non top line mobos (Above 200 CAD)
4690k will be faster once overclocked anyway plus just run a z97 mobo. they're like 140ish |

"AMD can go much faster Intel has the best graphics"
what the hell did i just read
If you have the cash to pick up a 9590, you can purchase a vastly superior 4690k. The 9590 itself is just an oc'd AMD octo-core, and since most games now are based on single-thread performance, it's more worth it to just purchase an i5 4690k, especially given how hot and power-heavy the 9590 is. |

| Anyway, I got my Z97 board for 74$ as a combo from microcenter because ASRock has decent MoBos. |

| AMD has bad performance per core. Get intel 4690K, you really wont even need to OC it |

intel if you have any inteligence oh and,
"- 3D editing"?
This is really broad,
If you are doing sculpting(Zbrush or blender) I'd suggest getting a lot of ram and a cpu with a lot of threads.
If you are doing modelling anything really, a potato will do, maybe a potato with a lot of ram
if you are actually going to render... erm, a good GPU will do

oh and,a good >>NVIDIA<< GPU
oh and I suggest going with the AMD GPU, sure it has less performance per core but still has more cores, and these will really come in handy for the last 2 uses.
"- Video editing - 3D editing"
otherwise get this instead,
Intel® Core™ i7-4790T Processor, almost the same price range
but it's like, a lot better

Great choice, you won't regret it, MSI has really high standards from what I here but stay away from zotac GPUs because Roseart 2 bought a GPU from them and it exploded.....[citation needed though]
And Gigabyte is pretty cool too.

970 has two partitions of memory, one with 3.5 gigs and one with .5 gigs, that's what taint's trying to say
it was a big scandal but there's no real point in getting mad about it |

| Actually you should always buy 2.5GHZ processor it is the best and the NVIDIA graphics card is the best one for to buy so get those. |

only AMD product I own is my graphics card
I can't say anything bad about it, because it works MUCH better than my old NVIDIA graphics card |

"Getting the 4GB, same as my friend is using except it's Gigabyte"
again, 3.5 + .5 gig, but that doesn't make it a bad GPU, though the R9 390 outdoes it in the price range
