Does updating your driver make any major or minor changes to your PC?
I opened up a game on Steam and it said I needed to update my driver to play. Does this affect my computer in any way? |

It should update the drivers of course
but beyond that I can't say for sure, I haven't had to update my drivers for any games |

| Yea, I'm using the family computer for this game and my mom will be pretty mad if I mess it up. |

though I did update my drivers for my old graphics card a while back, nothing really changed from what I could see from those updates
but you could be updating different drivers |

It tells me my video driver is outdated, with the following message:
Your video drivers appear to be out of date and could cause problems if you choose to continue and run the game. We strongly recommend that you follow the link below and update your video drivers to the latest version available from your driver vendor.
It links me to the AMD site.
Although I'm not sure about it... |

| I'd say keeping your drivers up to date is a good idea |

| Yes but, I know this is stupid, but I fear that it brings unwanted malware, trojan, virus, or any other baddies to my computer. It probably doesn't, but my real concern is if it's going to change anything about my computer, like the layout, features, design, or mess anything up. |

Hrm, that shouldn't happen
It at least didn't happen to me
but I doubt it should change the layout of the computer |

| if you get the drivers from the AMD site or whichever one it linked you to, you should be fine. |

| Alright, I must seem overly paranoid. It's just I really hate viruses. But one last question, sorry to bother you: Is AMD safe to download drivers from? |

As long as you download the drivers from AMD's official site, you'll be fine. In fact, you should update your drivers pretty often.
