Its not the detail most of the time, it is usually a virus script hiding in the workspace that you dont notice and it spreads to all the other models.
Thats why it lags alot

Sometimes builders may use a small fm script or sometimes even use a different sky which might have a hidden virus.

| most good builders dont use fm's, and if they do, they usually check for viruses. |

or that a lot of parts in a relatively small space causes extreme lag, as does a lot of unions.
i doubt any good builder actually uses a fm, and if they do its usually in studio so it cant spread at all. |

How many bricks do normal forts have?
Mines is about 2/5ths the way done and it has 1.7k

A fort shouldn't surpass 7000 primitives, 10000 is a bit of a stretch but it can work too. Anywhere beyond that is overkill.

i mean it can be around 10k or more if the base is big enough that roblox rendering can actually do a crap but yeah around 6-7k should be your ideal amount.

| TCC's base is 10k, but it's also very large. i've also CSG'ing stuff in certain areas to reduce the high brick concetrations. |

most builders use brick pack sets which have all the tools in them and the brick shapes but some of the shapes are infected.

tcc's base isnt THAT big though.

| eh I think most of the lag comes from the vehicles anyways. someone forgot to make a cleanup script for destroyed tanks, so there is usually like 5-6 dead tanks laying around at the end of a defense. |

| the first version of the vehicle engine had a cleanup script, but when sectionone did the revamp of the engine, i guess he removed the cleanup on accident? |

| For me it depends on what I am building, small forts for me are like 5k and big ones are 7k whereas my biggest PMC bases are around 15k |
