its ok i'll have to do this soon as well i don't even think i have any thermal compound left i might do it on my GPU's heatsink as well |

i think you're mistaking what thermal compound does, super glue would fail to transfer heat which is the entire point of thermal compound whereas super glue just bonds to surfaces to make them stick to eachother im sure it would still transfer heat but less efficiently as thermal compound and then you'd have to deal with the problem of super glue then making your heatsinks almost impossible to remove |

@conf It'd actually expand and crack the cpu. Also, high temp wheel bearing grease in a extremely small amount will last you for a day or two till you can get some compound. |

eh the expand and crack depends on how much you apply i still wouldn't bother with putting anything on as a substitute until i had thermal compound because then i'd have to take it all apart and clean the surfaces again anyhow |

@lost you only have to replace thermal compound anytime you remove a heatsink but since nobody recommends taking apart a laptop ever, no you shouldn't have to do so |
